Hello again all my Spark Friends!!! I've haven't been totally gone from this site, but been M.I.A when it comes to my friends here. My husband and I decided to join the local gym here in our town. We'd been going about 3 days per week together. About a month after joining my husband started to have problems sleeping, having energy struggles and some discomfort in his chest. I insisted that he go to our family doctor and have a physical and see what was going on. Well Doc found a heart murmur, referred him to a heart specialist. The cardiac specialist said he had a leaky aortic valve and it needed replacing asap. Well that made my heart drop. Here we were trying to take one path and life says no you have to take care of this first. So within 30 days my husband was in heart surgery. It was on Sept. 11th 2012 to be exact, and it wasn't easy at all. It is extremely hard to watch someone you hold so dearly in your heart and you can do nothing to take the pain away. He went through depression, pain, weakness, and self-pity. He hated having to rely on me for everything. I feel he would do the same for me in an instant. He hasn't been able to work since either, but we are maintaining. I have the good Lord above to thank for that.
Now here we are a year later, he is up on his feet again. He is seeing his doctor regularly, he is watching his diet, and we are back in the gym together!!!
While we were going through this time I didn't have anyway to vent, because I too felt the stress. So I turned to writing my feelings down on paper. I wasn't angry about this because things do happen. What we do while we are going through is very important. I showed everyday that I loved him.
Out of the storm we came together with stronger love and stronger faith in God! I wrote a song in tribute to our heavenly Father. It is called Here I Am!! If you would like to here it go to it is totally free to listen. I just wanted to share this with anyone who may need encouragement to continue on their journey. Even though their may come some rain, the Sun will always shine again. Be Blessed everyone and keep on the path to health and fitness. No matter what obstacles that may seem to get in the way!!
