I try to lose weight, and it always seems to find me. Followed my dreams to Michigan... and my old habits caught up to me here. I thought I had it all figured out; I did have it pretty well figured out for myself. I knew where and what to eat, I had easy access to fresh, healthy foods, I had exercise and activity built into the schedule of my busy life. I was mainting an 80lb weight loss for years and felt that my weight struggles were behind me. And then I fell in love and moved to rural Michigan. I remember standing in restaurants and grocery stores in tears when I first arrived as I realized there were little to no healthy options I found appetizing. I remember thinking that working out at home would be so easy if I worked from home... I'm struggling, but I'm here! I've had enough of excuses and laying on the couch. I'm done missing the sense of accomplishment and self-worth that comes from making good choices and changing myself and my life for the better. I'm taking it, and control over my life and my body back.

My Goals:
Love for others

My Program:
To put it as simply as possible, I didn't do anything to lose weight/get healthy, that I didn't intend to do forever.

I try to make the decision that will make me feel good about myself, rather than just good in the moment.

At first I tracked, measured, weighed, wore a heart rate monitor, and depended on the math.
Now I don't! I don't think I'd continue to be successful without that foundation on tracking, but now I just try to live the life I always told myself I'd live "someday."

A whole lot of incremental changes have added up to a pretty huge change in who I am and how I live, and although no one ever wants to hear it, incremental is the only way I've created lasting change in my life.

I eat, and I eat a lot, and I eat out, and I drink beer, and have chocolate on a near daily basis.

I'm very active, but it happened gradually.
Fitness first clicked for me when I found a gym with fun group exercise classes at a convenient price,

Personal Information:
I'm not any more special than you are. I work a lot, have a life, have to eat out and find time for myself and friends and family.

I was my only obstacle to becoming the woman I wanted to be.

Other Information:
Horses can't vomit.

Elephants are the only mamal that can't jump.

Octopodes are about the size of a flea when they're born.

"Octopodes" is a grammatically correct pluralization of octopus, and way more fun to say than octopi. Go ahead, try it!

Every single hamster in the United States today comes from a single litter captured in Syria in 1930.
