I joined Spark People in December of 2007 - so I have been here a while.

I struggle with weight issues and have for many years. In September of 2015 I was admitted into a weight loss clinic run by our local hospital. I learned that I am severely insulin resistant and was able to lose 60 lbs over the course of the Optifast program which I attended until March 2016.

Now I need to continue my weight loss through diet and exercise. The Optifast program proved that I can lose weight successfully, so I need to acknowledge that and follow through. Spark people give me the support and tools I need to be successful. Besides which my darling daughter, who is the best diet buddy ever, is also on Sparks so we can keep in touch and spur each other on!

Fitness Minutes: 47,901

My Goals:
My long-term weight goal is to get to a healthy weight of 140.
My short-term goal is to be under 240 lbs by June 2017
My exercise goal is to exercise every day for a minimum of 30 min.
My stay active goal is to do hard active work (either out or in) for a minimum of 1 hour 5x/week


My Program:
I am keeping a 1200-1600 cal/day range depending on my physical activity.
I am logging my food each day.
I am using WATP for cardio, and using free-weights, bench and ball for strength 3x/wk



Personal Information:
I have been happily married for over 30 years to the one guy in the world who is totally perfect for me. We lost our eldest son on March 13th, 2016 and two remaining awesome adult children.


Other Information:
I love reading, playing spider solitaire, and cooking.

    Thanks Shirley for your comment on my blog. It is one of the biggest problems I have. I go full blast. Sorry to hear about your ankle and omy goodness how flusterating! I have toned it down some. I finally got my wish for the recumbrant bicycle! Now to get it together. LOL should be interesting. the back fence was only 1000 steps with the pedometer. so that makes the back yard so it is better than 2000 steps and that doesn't count the width. An I wont be doing that for a while. I think you are so right I am sure my body can't carry my weight, It is just happy to not carry quite so much.
