Saying "I lost 56lbs" just doesn't have the same impact as a side by side comparison 56lbs later!

Thanks for your comment on my blog about the Good n Natural bars.

No, words like organic and natural have no legal definition. Anyone can put that on their labels with no proof to what it means. In general use it is supposed to mean raised/grown without pesticides, hormones, chemicals, or through genetic modification. Unfortunately, since there is no legal definition there is no oversight by any governmental agency and thus anyone can use those words. Same as "whole wheat" doesn't mean "whole grain", but it is used in the same way as a marketing ploy.

Just like humans, some companies try to be honest while others don't care. Once something becomes a fad like gluten free, low fat, no trans fat, no hormones, high fiber, etc some company will come along and find a way to use those words on their packaging while hiding the truth. Just like low fat foods have ridiculously high sodium and sugar levels, no trans fats can mean less than .5g trans fat, and high fiber can mean high levels of sickening fake/manufactured fiber that's not digested the same way as natural fiber, organic chicken can be treated with drugs that are not required to be reported, organic fruits and veggies can still be seeped in chemicals that are not regulated, and natural foods are designed and created through laboratory-like procedures.
