"In 2004 I had a baby girl and gained 80 lbs. I had lost about half of it and got pregnant. My son was born in May of 2007 and with that pregnancy I put back on that 40 lbs I had lost. My mother is overweight and I can be lazy. This scares me. I don't want laziness and poor eating habits to be the legacy I pass on to my kids. " I wrote that in January of 2008. Fast forward to today, January 2011. When I started Sparking I steadily dropped down from 203 to about 165 with lots of ups and downs along the way. In 2010 I hit a plateau. A loooonnnnggggg plateau. Several months went by and I got frustrated. It came to fall of 2010 and I'd put on about 10 lbs and life got really busy. I had too many balls in the air and I dropped one. Me. I put on another 10. And here we are today. Starting a new year with new support systems in place. I'm nervous for some reason. That's different than the resolve that I had starting in 2008. I find that nervousness scary. All I can do now is take it slow and steady. Fast forward to 2018. 220 lbs. Not my highest weight but this is different. I feel out of shape... unhealthy. I feel out of breath and have no stamina when doing cardio. Where my fat sits on my body is different. Above my knees, my wrists are pudgy now. My fingers. I actually feel gross when I eat fatty foods. My body is telling me that it is time. I have been here so many times before. Haven't we all? This time the feeling is different though. I don't want to just " look cute in clothes". This time I feel like I want to do it for my healrh. I seriously have never cared about my health before. Lets see where this leads!
