Introduction Text Meh. The last several years have been hard, ups and downs, with life and the scale. I can barely get the scale to budge, when it does move it's up. Meh. I need to get back on track, somehow. **2016 - Starting Over. It's was a long 2015. Lots of living and lots of dying. It's time to get serious again about nutrition and fitness. It'll be slow going. I'm in Physical Therapy for a tear in my left knee. And fell. :( I fell during a training run on Sept 28. I broke my left arm/wrist. I had surgery. I'll have physical therapy. I can't run until I'm 100% healed. But I will run again! WOOT! I ran my first 5K!! Back from all these injuries and set backs with a personal record of 35.01! I'm glad that I'm back in the groove of things!! Excited to finish out the year with 90-100 mores miles logged!! :D 2010 has been (thus far 07/2010)) the year of injuries. One right after another. But that's Ok. Running is a long term sport. These injuries keep reminding me of that. THE CRAYONS STORY: You know the feeling when you open a new box of crayons, the big box, 64 crayons....the excitement, the possibilities, the creativity flowing from you buzzing like electricity thru your veins? Do you remember that feeling? That is how I feel about this healthy journey. The possibilities it creates. A new healthy me, an energetic me, a me that fits into her clothes, ya know the "someday" clothes in the back of the closet, a new box for the 64 crayons!! ***March 2010: I am here to report that the someday clothes have been given away! I'm two sizes smaller than the lowest size "someday" size! *****I have been a member of SP since 2006, but I didn't start utilizing the tools until May 2009 (april 27 to be exact). When my annual blood work came back with high cholestoral numbers, borderline bloodsugar numbers and 30 pounds overweight, I decided, it was time. Time to get my life back, my shape back, my strength back, my energy back. When I was younger I was teeeny tiny, I never had to watch my waist or what I ate. Now that I'm ut-hmmmm, over 39, If I smell donuts I gain 5 pounds! Also because I was so small in school, I didn't feel athletic. I always wanted to be, but I felt I wasn't big enough, strong enough, not enough something. For the past five-ish years, I've been interested in running. Because its a personal challenge. Its a PB thing. Its not against anyone else. Its just about moving myself forward. So a few years ago I bought some running shoes, yea...for real, I said years ago. And I would walk and sometimes jog 2-3 miles per day, I lost 10 pounds and had 10 more to go. Then well...life happen and a move and I wasn't near my favorite running trail, so I stopped running. Then more life happened and I read a book called "A Beautiful Offering" by Angela Thomas, Its not about running, its not about running at all, but there is a page or two about it that says: "It finally dawned on me that I probably won't wake up one day and be a runner. Nothing will happen unless I actually get out there and do what it takes to become one. About a month ago, I started trying. I wish I could tell you that it happened in a matter of weeks. But I am forty, and becoming a runner is going to take a little more time. I walk fast to warm up, run until that side thing is unbearable, walk it out and then run a little more. I feel like such a pansy. But if I give up again, I will still never become a runner. I want to run. I have dreamed that I am a runner all of my life. I could quit, but something inside me doesn't want to this time." So Thank You Angela Thomas I have my shoes on and I'm trying. I walk when I have to and I'm faster when I can be! :) Even though I am huffing and puffing, tripping and tumbling, I'm moving and I'm not quitting! I am a runner! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ 2009 INFO: DECEMBER 2009 Weight 127.6 Neck: 14.25 Bust: 37 Chest: 31.5 Waist 30.5 Belly Button: 31.5 Hips: 36.5 December Goal: 125 I made it to 125, but I couldn't hold onto it thru the holidays, I gained two pounds after Christmas, but started Half Training and lost back down to 126.4. NOVEMBER 2009 Weight 128.2 Neck: 14.25 Bust: 37 Chest: 31.5 Waist 30.5 Belly Button: 31.5 Hips: 36.5 November Goal: 125 (almost made it 126.0) November was good for me, I ran my first two races, I did really good at keeping up with my runs and ST. I was doing well on weight loss until Thanksgiving....Before Thanksgiving I was 126.0 After I was 129.2! YIKES!! But I think that has alot to do with drinking little water and having alot of sodium over the holiday, my measurements haven't changed a bit. My clothes still fit the same. SEPTEMBER 2009 Weight: 133.2 Bust: 37 Waist 31.00 Belly Button: 32 Hips: 37.00 GW: under 135 September I spent off my foot due to a torn posterior tendon. But I did manage to lose some weight. I thought I would be doing good to maintain. AUGUST 2009: Weight 137.2 (sodium inflated) Bust: 38 Chest: 32 Waist 31.00 Belly Button: 32 Hips: 37.00 Neck: 14.75 GW: 130 August 2009 was pretty much a bust for me. I ended up weighing the same as when I started. Again I got down to 135, but I didn't stay there. I'm not sure what I can do differently in September. Right now I don't know how to bust this plateau. My measurements are pretty much the same so my goal for September is still 130. JULY 2009: Weight 138.4 Bust: 38 Chest: 32 Waist 31.25 Hips: 37.25 Neck: 14.75 GW: 135 JUNE was a bust due to my injury. I'm a native Texan, currently living in Phoenix AZ I first logged onto SP in '06. But I didn't get dedicated until my blood work came back April '09 with high cholesterol numbers. That was enough for me to get serious, be serious, stay serious about my health. 2020 I am starting over - again. Higher weight, Higher labs, I must do the work.

2015 I decided to go back to school, the end result will be a Bachelors of Science in Nutrition with a focus on Wellness. 5/18/20 I begin clinical I can't do without: Daily activity Coffee. I definately can't do without Coffee! :)

Add a Link I'm a RUNNER GIRL and most days I Run For My Life! As a dietetic student, I tend to think of nutrition from a scientific view point. Not in a "fad diet" or pseudoscience kind of way.
