Thank you for stopping by to read and comment on my blog, Loving Yourself: Loving Truths from a Friend.
I hope that you followed the link to Michelle's blog. If you have time to explore there is much more wisdom to be found in her other blogs.
She stopped by and had this to add: "It's true, we are never alone because deep in our core, in our very fibers of being, we all share these insecurities, these questions that burn within every day. To know that it is normal, to know that we are not abnormal in these thoughts, is such comfort. My challenge to all is to lovingly care for yourself as you would your closest and loved friend and family member."
SAMI199 remarked,"Thank you for your dedication to helping us all in our journey to peeling back the layers, learning to love ourselves & be happy in the moment."
JADOMB added, "Keep those positive thoughts coming, we all need them. Even those of us that have hardened outer shells. As Michelle wrote, peel back those layers. We all have many layers and would be surprised at what we would find.(both good and bad) Just be careful though when peeling those layers back. The truth can sometimes be hard to take. That is where acceptance needs to come in and help us - through exposure. So no matter what one finds or how big your giants are to slay, be accepting of one's faults and Keep the Faith."
I know since I've started this series that I have discovered things about myself that have been buried for a long time. Peeling back these layers takes courage because sometimes we have to break down the walls of defense and rationalizations we have padded ourselves with - i.e., the excess weight.
As we peel back these layers of sadness, disappointment, anger, despair, embarrassment, frustration, and low self worth, we are then able to become more in touch with our true feelings and who we wish to be. It is then and only then, that we can begin to replace them with what we know to be true, and this is not always easy - it's hardest to be honest and objective with ourselves.
This will take time and we need to be patient with ourselves. Just remember, you have nothing to lose, and everything to gain! 2937 days ago

Thank you so very much for reading and commenting on my blog, Loving Yourself: My Body Pledge of Allegiance, and for signing on by leaving a comment, and taking the pledge to be your own champion!
I feel more strongly than ever that this is indeed the first hurdle we must conquer. Because of all the positive feedback I have received during this series from those who have been reading and following, I am going to continue with helping not only myself, but those who have committed via this pledge made to themselves to do that with more blogs on this topic. I am confident that we can move forward from here. This was the first step off the starting line. Let's move forward together! I do hope you will stop by to read and to follow the Loving Yourself bogs as the series continues.
Many fellow Spark Friends have already committed to and taken the Body Pledge of Allegiance, and more are joining each day. These small actions can make a big difference. It is about coming together and offering our strength to one another. Together we are uniting our conviction, and echoing the voices of ourselves, and for women and girls everywhere to love ourselves as we are, no matter where we are. It is the energy of the this conviction and the movement that will propel us all forward into becoming who we wish to truly be, and ultimately, to achieving all that we are striving to achieve, not only here, but in our lives.
Let's “Spark a mini revolution of loving ourselves”! Together we can do it! 2946 days ago
