I have been struggling with my weight since I was a child. I am an emotional eater. Tried most diets and too many diet products to keep track off. I have finally accepted that there is no "diet" that is going to get and keep me healthy. It is a lifestyle and now, with thyroid issues and getting older, I am finally taking charge of my health. It is up to me. I realize that slow progress is better than no progress, and sometimes there will be "back sliding". I am resolved to get back on track ...
I am resolved to get back on track when this happens and not be so hard on myself, which only sets me up for failure. I am encouraged and motivated by so many people on this site. Thank you Spark People!

My Goals:
My all time heaviest was 252, lost and then re-gained, many times.
7/2012 212
10/2014 183
12/2014 196
2/17/15 185
4/22/2015 176
5/23/2015 172
6/21/2015 170
8-5-2015 167#
9-17-15 165#
My goal is to eventually hit my goal weight of 144, and maintain instead of regaining when I am not losing weight.
My Program:
I am NOT on a diet. I am changing my lifestyle, and with that, changing my likes and dislikes with food. Fast food is now pretty gross to me, although pizza does not fall in that category! I am eating healthy, low carbs, virtually no processed sugar/carbs/white stuff (bread, rice, pasta) and exercising 3-4 times per week. If I don't exercise, I miss it. It is no longer a chore.
Personal Information:
My name is Pam, and I live in Antioch, California with my husband. I have grown children, and grandchildren. My husband and I have two dogs, Sammie and Katie. He's retired but I'm still working full time. I love walking, reading, cooking, crafts, most things creative. You can find me on Pinterest Pam Daniels-Barber.
Other Information:
Food can be the best medicine, or the worse poison. Choose wisely.
