Thanks for stopping by my blog. Yes, the medal from Oak Tree looks like it's hand made. Yes, there was live on-course music, but not for the full course. There was a band with a drummer at the top of the monster hill, and an acoustic instrumental-only country-sounding band perhaps a mile and a half or two miles later. We passed both of those points twice. On rural gravel roads, there was no problem hearing the music. But yeah, on-course music is a marketing type statement that I didn't even read before the race. And I didn't realize the medal was hand made till you pointed that out; I did spot that it's ceramic, which stands out as a rustic design in keeping with the theme of supporting the Genesee Valley Conservatory.

Thanks for visiting my page recently, and commenting on the ENORMOUS medal. That is all anyone can say about that medal. They will have a hard time topping that one next year!

I recently did one called Rails to Trails that was a half which before the beginning of the race they told us how last year they were able to buy a fire truck for the community and it was parked onsite. I thought that was really cool. And the support and organization was top notch!

That's good to know about Hot Chocolate! How do you feel it was terribly organized? I am sucker for a cool medal and their's looks cool, lol. I also hope to use it as training and motivation for the Bjorklund Half in June. emoticon

As for pace, well, I don't tell them either way, hehe. Right now I am around 15 min pace I think but would like to get to 12 min pace by June/July.
