Time to focus on the food and let the fitness follow.
After an injury-ridden 2013 I'm owning my faults and my successes. I'm ready to strip this thing down to the simplest terms. Calorie deficit = weight loss. I don't need to worry about what workouts or fitness goals I have right now. I need to worry about what food I am putting in my mouth today. I need to log my food again for months at a time to get my bearings with regards to portion size, fat, and sugar. I have tried loving myself at any size, but I can't love myself when I'm putting junk in ...

I don't need to worry about what workouts or fitness goals I have right now. I need to worry about what food I am putting in my mouth today. I need to log my food again for months at a time to get my bearings with regards to portion size, fat, and sugar. I have tried loving myself at any size, but I can't love myself when I'm putting junk in my mouth. I need to be accountable and I invite you to help me out!
In Jan. 2008 I began what has been my longest successful streak of weight management in my life. I lost 35 pounds in '08 with the help of The Best Life. I proved in 2009 that I could maintain that weight loss, but I never could get the scale moving down again. Despite not dropping any more pounds, my lifestyle was truly different and I'm proud that I was able to hold on to so many good habits. I joined Spark two years ago and lost an additional 10 pounds during 2010. I maintained that weight loss for a year, but I've this past year and gained 10 pounds back. I reset my ticker in July to reflect my new starting point!
I have never been an athlete, until the summer of '08. At the age of 37, I started training for a sprint triathlon. I completed my first sprint in Sep. '08, and I've gone on to do five more in the years since. I love competing! Having a goal, planning out my training, preparing for the big day, and showing up with hundreds (or thousands) of folks full of adrenaline is the BEST! I have enjoyed many running races, and even raced with my husband in the Warrior Dash. I've enjoyed doing p90x, Crossfit, bootcamp, and pole dancing classes! Never thought I'd be putting on makeup, shorty shorts, and platform shoes to workout, but it's so much fun to be artistic and get a workout!
I read a book entitled The 4-Hour Body back in October and started following the author's guide for weight loss. It's really revolutionized my life and put success back into my grasp. I eat very clean 6 days/week and get one cheat day, which seems to keep me satisfied and motivated to check off another week. I'm looking forward to seeing some numbers on the scale on on my tape measure in 2013. Failure doesn't taste as good as all this happy success does!
On the practical side of things, I'm here for accountability. This is an amazing community of motivating, strong, bad mamajamas to laugh and commiserate with. Love my teams and my sparkly friends, this is my favorite motivational place to be!
