I have bounced within a 20 pound window for most of my adult life and as I get older I am facing different challenges. I have tried numerous tools, but SparkPeople is the one resource that had the single, biggest long-lasting effect on my health and fitness journey.

I am committed to developing practices that I can legitimately do for a lifetime while still trying to keep it in the day. I'm accepting that I will not be graduating from this journey in my lifetime. I can establish good practices, but life and my body continue to change and I need to keep a constant eye on what is working and what needs to change in order to continue to adapt to be the best I can be.

My Goals:
Develop and nurture practices that will enable me to achieve and sustain health goals for the rest of my life:

Lose 15-25 pounds (I'll know the number when I feel good in my body) and keep them off

Balance daily exercise, stretching and meditation to keep my heart healthy and grounded, my body limber and my mind centered

Understand the triggers behind self-sabotage and overcome them

Step out of my comfort zone with courage and humility - challenge myself mentally, creatively, emotionally, physically

Learn to be more intuitive on when to be kind and gentle with myself and when to be fierce

Be grateful, always

My Program:
1. Track food with discipline - try to leave ample room in the calorie budget for surprises

2. Exercise daily and alternate between cardio and strength exercises (yoga and kickboxing)!

3. Keep a regular journal (3 times / week)

Personal Information:
56 years old

Divorced with 2 adult children

Living near Boston, Massachusetts

Swing within a 20 pound range for most of my adult life

Hey Pam, thanks for adding me. Seems we think alike I eat normally and quit using fad diets and I finally stopped yo-yo ing but it took over five years of slow and deliberate weight loss. I'll reach my goal someday. I've changed for the better. Becca

Looking to stay focused through the upcoming Holiday Season? Want to get connected with a Team to support you through your Journey to a Healthier Lifestyle? If yes, then consider joining the Biggest Loser Challenge that starts in early December. Each week 10 teams of 24 Active members do fun nutritional and fitness challenges. The challenges promote a healthy lifestyle. If for some reason you cannot do a challenge, it can be modified to meet your needs. I hope that you decide this might be for you. If so, you can leave your name on the Wait List for the Winter challenge. To get to the List visit my page and click on the “BLUE BIGGEST LOSER” Icon; copy The Team Page Address below or let me know so I can send you an invitation. Join the Team then sign up on the waitlist. It’s the thread right below the Chit Chat thread.
If searching through Spark enter Biggest Loser Winter Challenge All Teams.

I do not always have the capacity to verbalize what I feel deep inside my heart. Therefore, I have cultivated the habit of saving quotations which have touched me. Recently I came across this and I would like to share it with my friends.

Every day is a new day -
a day for new beginnings, new dreams, new action -
a day for challenge, adventure, and discovery.
    TODAY, what is your goal?
    What is your dream?
What action are you taking to further your goals and dreams? emoticon
