I am determined to lose weight. My life depends on it! Period.
I was an athlete in high school and i know what it is like to succeed and fail. I played basketball and ran cross country. I been through both sides of winning and losing. But, one horrible year led to me being interested in sports psychology. My dream was to play basketball for college. But, my varsity coach never put me in the game my senior year. Because I was a good player, I got bullied by my own teammates who I believe put my coach against me to not play. My mentality was now affected by it and it affected my game. It got so bad I went through a deep depression. Because basketball was my biggest passion, I felt a part of my life was taken away from me. It was so bad, I got cut off the senior basketball picture of my high school yearbook. But I had potential. But my coach didn't give me a chance. I would never want to see anyone go through what I went through. I believe there is potential in every athlete. I would never doubt an athlete like I have been doubted. But, things happen. I feel this has led me to be interested in sports psychology. We all have potential. With me, I had no choice but to have my potential thrown away by a coach who never let me play. NOW I WILL COME BACK TO THE OLD ME AND PLAY BASKETBALL AND RUN CROSSCOUNTRY! I AM COMING BACK STRONG AND NO MATTER WHAT! NO ONE IS PUTTING ME DOWN! IM GOING AFTER MY DREAMS NO MATTER WHAT!

Hi jmaries51, I am glad my story touched you. It was a horrible experience I will use to help me succeed in life. But, I congratulate you on finding that athlete in you. It feels good to find that strong inner being that we always had. I am working on it. And like you, I never want to let her go. xoxo emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hi No Limits21, I am so touched by your story. You are so right. Everyone deserves a chance to succeed in the things they do in life. I am going to turn 62 in Jan and I never felt like an athlete until these past couple of months. I started jogging last year and my Dad passed away. It took me almost a whole year to recover from that, but now that I have discovered my inner athlete, I am never going to let her go. You have your whole life in front of you and I believe you will succeed. emoticon emoticon
