Well, my Spark Page suits me pretty well in much the same format now as it was when I first set it up. Don't know if that's because I'm too lazy to change it or I just like it as it is?

I didn't realize that the pics I enter elsewhere end up on this page as well as any I post here directly, so it's getting to be a bunch. (Wonder if there's a limit? Guess I'll find out.)

My Goals:
Lose weight! Specifically, seventy pounds and look better than I did at forty when I'm seventy-five. Lower blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar.

A little addendum on 1/14/07:

The above was posted after I joined January 14, 2006 and here it is a year later. My resting pulse is around 58 (was 75), BP is now 105/65 (was 170/90) and I'm down well over eighty pounds. All the problems aren't yet solved, but many sure are out of the way, thanks to sticking with the Spark People plan. So yes, it works!

Now it's nearly thirteen years later and I've gained and lost a few times, but never as bad as in the beginning. I get knocked down... but I get up again! Here at the beginning of 2019, I'm holding at over eighty pounds down from my original weight with many of my health problems behind me. Maintain, maintain, maintain!

My Program:
Watching calories and avoiding all forms of bad carbs. Exercising and being more active in general. Meditation.

Personal Information:
Dave A. from South Central Pennsylvania, USA.

Other Information:
I love photography, hiking, biking, book collecting, the Phillies and the Yankees.

3/17 Update: The only thing that has changed is that now the books are electronic and I have over 2000 hardbacks and other books that get little attention.

So cool! And so different from our Mardi Gras influenced foods in America. Or in many parts of America, anyway.

So I found a vegan recipe for Fastnacht Donuts! Might help a little, at least on the lard and cholesterol levels. :D

@WEARINGTHIN - Garmin connect is their (Garmin's) website that you use to see your data in detail and you can use it to relay data to other sites. I don't use it for connecting since all I copy over is my hiking distances and daily step count. The device I'm currently using is a Garmin Fenix 3HR Sapphire. I've had the Vivofit bands that they make and except for the pause capability I lke them just about as well and they cost about $300 less. None of the trackers from any manufacturer are terribly exact, but they do give you a good comparison from one day to the next and they motivate me. Check out some of the newer YouTube videos about trackers. Good luck!

How do you like Garmin Connect? Is it a wrist device? Do you feel it's accurate? And lastly, how long have worn it, and do you foresee wearing it much longer?
