First off I'm here to tell you weight loss after 60 is totally possible! I started at age 61 and have lost 80 lbs AND kept it off.

You can check out my page to read what worked for me. Basically I didn't diet. I knew that diets didn't work for me in the long term and that I had to make changes that would stick for life. I made small sustainable changes; e.g., started taking my lunch and brought a sandwich and bought reduced fat chips. Over time swapped out the chips for a small salad or soup, then started bringing a big salad instead. Did Meatless Monday to get me eating less meat.

for 6 months I didn't even really "exercise" but I did commit to move more. After 6 months I bought a pedometer and worked up to 10,000 steps.

You might want to join the new member challenge here or the small steps challenge.
