For a long time I've concentrated on improving my body. I've realized that I was neglecting two other important parts of me - mind and spirit. It takes all three to be a healthy and whole person. I started on this mind/body/spirit journey about five years ago. Having turned 70 on Christmas Eve 2016, I'm looking to a much fuller and balanced life in the next decade. I know that age is just a number and it's never too late to change and grow. "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See I am doing a new thing." Isaiah 43:18

Lord, I praise you because you have made me just exactly the way you wanted me. Help me to get free to receive and express that beauty in me. God, free me from the insecurity and even anger I feel sometimes about myself. Show me how precious and beautiful I am to you" A prayer from "Becoming a Woman of Extraordinary Faith" by Julie Clinton

My Program:
For Now ~~ Starting Jan 18th - a 10 week Life Style Program: 90 min. nutrition talk 1x week; time w/ personal trainer 2x week; use of the gym by myself 1x week; pre and post assessments; Celebration and Awards Banquet. I'm very excited about doing this as a kick start to starting new healthy habits.

Personal Information:
I'm married, have two children and 4 grandchildren. My family is a blessing everyday. I'm a retired 4th grade teacher from a Christian school. My husband is still teaching at a university. We like to travel in an RV, and I look forward to the time when we are not restricted by his schedule. I've lived most of my life in western PA and moved to Ohio in 2007.

Other Information:
I love spending time with my kids and grand kids, knit and sew, research my ancestors, play hand bells, spend time with my P.E.O. sisters, and give programs on a book I published. I enjoy having people tell me stories about their Civil War ancestors. (www.uscivilwarletters.com)

…:::Thank you for taking the time to read: "Is Relaxation on your Bucket list?" blog.... emoticon And have a great weekend! (I so agree with all you said regarding multi-tasking! My thoughts on that is: We are not in a circus juggling balls .. Had enough of the circus while working and now loving retirement!)

Milann, thank you for the thoughtful, thought-provoking comment on my page. I understand! The way we talk to ourselves, the language we use, is so important. After a lifetime of thinking in negative terms about myself, I've realized lately that it's time to make a change.

Which reminds me--I really like the words on your page of the Christian writer, Julie Clinton, who thanks God for making her just as she is--beautiful. We should all recognize what treasures we are and what treasures we've been given.

Wishing you a good week, my dear. Take care.

Thank you for the message on my page, Milann. I hope you find success with WW! One of my good friends here lost quite a bit of weight there recently, and it has changed her life. I think it's a good program, or at least it was many years ago when I did it. Good luck!
