Hi I am Marilyn 67 and need to loose weight, My husband and I live on a farm in Iowa, Love our House Dog Tobylynn ( a Miniture Snacheers.) Have Lots of cats . We love to eat out, watch the Minnesota Twins Ball Team. Enjoy going to casinos expecially Laughlin. I really need to loose some weight. I know I would feel better and would be able to walk faster. I would like to loose up to 50 poounds. Love to have to wear a couple sizes smaller. We have a daughter, her husband and two grandchildren. Love being home and able to go when Don decides it is time to go somewhere. We kinda have a little coffee club. Really Don goes a whole lot more than I do but it there is a birthday then the women join in on the coffee and cookies at a local resturant about 5 miles away. I love talking with people especially doing e-mails and facebook. I love being on the computer. Enjoying looking up recipes and things. Support is very important in loosing weight and I am looking forward to supporting each and every one of you. Thanks for letting me join your team. I am not good at doing pictures I will have to wait for my daughter or granddaughter to help me. Oh I guess I did my picture right. Maybe have more pictures later. Marilyn

Give an overview of what you are doing to meet your goals. I am tracking my food with counting calories to the best of my knowledge. Trying to drink more water, really hard for me. Trying to move around more in the house and less time reading or on the computer. Trying to get more sleep.

    Hi Marilyn! Thank you for making me a friend. I have done likewise. Small goals are very easily attainable. Like ounces adding up to lbs. Keep that in mind when one day you find you only lost 2 or 3 ounces. That is a tough one to take but those things happen. Remember your weight fluctuates so unless you are really close to your goal only weigh once a week. Keep up the good work Marilyn!

    The one thing that I find really has helped me on my journey is having my sister as my diet and exercise buddy. Of course we live in the same house so that is really great. When one of us doesn't feel like doing something the other one pushes a bit. I understand about the exercise. I had to add steps daily to even begin my exercise program! We added whole wheat and grains to our diet to help us not feel hunger! If you need any help along the way give me a shout!

    Hi:
    It sounds like you need to treat yourself to a new scale. WW even have scales. I have my lifestyle changes I have made in the few weeks I have been with the Sparks People. Sometimes I find myself grininig that I have those changes working for me everyday. Good luck on loosing those 15 pounds by September 6. That is a great challenge. Hope we both reach ours. Your right small goals are easier to handle but they eventually turn into big goals. We need to keep trying every day. There is no vacation with lifestyles that we are following each day.

    I'm glad I'm on vacation too. It feels good to be relaxing and taking care or myself at the same time.
    This site is great, glad you are finding it helpful with making lifestyle changes. Just be careful 20 lbs. by Aug. 25th is a lot, SP recommends 2 lbs. a week. Even I'm pushin it to try to loose 15 by the time school starts on Sept. 6th. Not sure if it will happen, weighed myself this morning and according to the scale I'm up 4 ounces. Not sure if this scale is correct. It made a funny noise a few weeks ago and I found a small piece of metal on the floor after that. Guess I'll check to see what I weigh at the gym when I go tomorrow morning.
    I can't believe I did the 6 miles myself. If you had a chance to read my blog, you'd find out that it wasn't planned. Now that I did do it I know that that is no excuse for me any longer.

    I did manage to walk 20 minutes on Saturday and 30 minutes today. Working on a few odds and ends here at home, I still haven't cleaned out all my emails. I'm hoping if I work on it all this week I can get caught up.

    Keep up the good work, work on achieving those small goals and you will be successful.

    Just thought I'd stop by to see how you and your DH are doing?

    I finally have started my summer vacation, and actually getting back on track. Ending up walking 6 miles on Friday, I'm still paying for that one, although it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
