Hi, I am Shannon. I am a stay at home mom and an at home medical transcriptionist. When I met my husband 12 years ago I was a size 2, and now a lot of excuses later I am a size 18, and unfortunately I can't use the excuse because I had kids (I actually lost weight when I was pregnant). My mom introduced me to Spark and now here I am actually starting to do something about my self esteem and my backside. I would love to find some friends that can help keep me moving.. :)

Update 03/2013- I have now met numerous goals that I had when I started here in 2010 including I have now completed 21 half marathons since March 2011 and I have also completed 2 full marathons.

I am constantly looking at different ways to challenge myself and ways to add fun to my work outs. I am in the best place of my life- not at my fitness goals yet- but honestly could care less as I am living a life that I never thought I would have had 2 years ago.

First half marathon completed 03/2011

First full marathon completed 04/2012

PR for half marathon 2:28 completed in July 2012

As of 3/5/2013, completed 21 half marathons since March 2011

My Program:
With the help of all the wonderful people from SP, I completed my first half marathon in 2011 and completed 2 full marathons in 2012.

On the days that I do not run I am using my kettlebells and/or riding my bike. I have also taken pole fitness classes as well.

    The scale can be your enemy. You get up in the morning and step onto the scale. (You always weigh yourself in the morning because that way you haven't had a chance to eat in seven or eight hours.) One of three things has happened: you've gained weight, you've lost weight, or you've stayed the same. If you've lost weight, you're ahead of the game and can afford to cheat a little. BUT CAN YOU REALLY... IS THIS WHAT YOU REALLY WANT? If you've gained weight, you may feel angry or depressed, especially if you were "good" yesterday. SO WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO TODAY TO CHANGE YOUR NUMBERS TOMORROW? And if you stayed the same, it looks as if you have been given free reign to do nothing. ARE YOU GOING TO SIT THERE AND DO NOTHING?

    What are you willing to do TODAY to make the scale move in the direction you want it to move consistently for the next week?
