This information is way out of date. I have gone up and down several times in the last 6 years. I would like to get my weight DOWN and keep it there.

I want to live long enough to see my grandchildren grow up. My weight was never a problem until I turned 50. It's been a battle since that time. I'm happy to say that I'm winning the battle at last, thanks to SparkPeople and the friends that I have made here.

I reached my 148 goal on August 25th, 2008. Onward to 140, my new goal!

UPDATE SEPT 22: 140.4 this morning! Also, I now am size 10!!! I'm having my daughter take some pictures of me this week, and when I hit 140 I'll post one! WOO HOO

UPDATE SEPT 29: 138.8 this morning and I declare myself officially in the maintenance stage. I'm changing my ticker to reflect this range. This has been an exciting journey, and I've made so many new friends along the way! I thank the Lord for making this possible. I also thank all of the cheerleaders here at SparkPeople. What a wonderful group of people!

UPDATE OCT 15: So far so good in maintenance. I'm at 137 this morning, and finally posted my "after" picture. When I look at my 2006 picture, I could jump for joy at the progress I've made since that time. Thank you SparkPeople! Thank you Spark Friends! I'm spreading the Spark and shouting it loud and strong. You can do it, too!

UPDATE NOV 27: I'm holding steady at 130-32 for four weeks now and have adjusted my maintenance range again. I never thought I'd see this weight again. It sure feels good to feel good!

UPDATE FEB 5 2009: I quit smoking January 14th and today am weighing in at 138.6. I can only fight one battle at a time, so I sill get comfortable in my quit, and then bring the weight back into range.

UPDATE JULY 1: Well I've failed at maintaining while not smoking. I weighed in at 163.4 this morning, and after having a good cry, I recommitted to losing the weight (again) and have set November 1 as my goal.

UPDATE MAY 2011: Going to try again to lose this weight. I started exercising and eating right the first of May and so far so good. I retired this month, and thus I have more time to eat right and get healthy.

UPDATE OCT 6, 2012: Am finally on the right track after all of this time. I have lost 26 pounds since June 25 by low carbing. I set April as my target month to reach a size 12 again.

My Goals:
I reached my goal weight on September 25th, 2008. Then I quit smoking January 14, 2009. I gained the weight back. I am here again to get back to goal. Prayers are appreciated.

My Program:
I walk a minimum of 30 minutes a day, some days as much as 60 minutes. I sometimes do the Leslie Sansone walking program when the weather is bad.

Personal Information:
I retired from teaching mathematics at a university in May 2011. I'm also a wife and mother, and full-time procrastinator.

Other Information:
My favorite movie is O Brother Where Art Thou? and I've watched it so many times I have the dialogue memorized. I also love the soundtrack, which won a Grammy.
