hi Mari! Yay! A bike! So here are some words of wisdom to get started:

    1. Make sure the bike seat comes about to the middle of your backside. You want to be able to extend your leg almost all the way. This will prevent knee pain.
    2. DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. It is amazing how much you will sweat in just a few miles, especially in the summer time.
    3. Dont waste money on Gatorade. Buy the Alacer Emeren-C and the Alacer Electrolyte mix. Drink it after you finish working out. It doesn't taste as good as Gatorade, but it replenishes way more electrolytes, potassium, and B vitamins.
    4. Start small. You will be exhausted after two miles and want to nap all day. This is completely normal. Just drink plenty of water and eat a half a banana (or a whole one if you prefer) and you'll be fine.
    5. Did I mention drink plenty of water? This will also help you get through the false hunger signals your brain will send you.
    6. At first, dont worry about speed. Build up your distance and endurance. The first week I biked, I could barely handle four miles. Then I went to six, then eight, then ten, and then it started getting easier.
    7. If you fall off of your training program for an extended period, start it back up slowly. You cant go from zero to twenty-five miles in a week if you've been off the bike a wile. You will hate life if you do that. Trust me on this.
    8. There will be plateaus in how much distance you can handle. Right now I am stuck at 25 miles as my maximum.
    9. Wear a helmet. This is not an option. You can walk away from a scraped knee, but a busted skull, not so much. Knees are also replaceable. Brains are not.
    10. Be sure to stretch your hips, because they will seize up something ferocious the day after. It is SO hard to get them loosened up once they have seized up, and then you hobble around like a little old lady. Not fun.

That is all the advice for the moment. What kind of bike did you get? I hope you enjoy it! emoticon

    "BEAUTIFUL WOMAN AWARD"

You are the recipient of the Beautiful Woman Award!!

Once you've been given this award, you have to paste it on the page of 8 women who deserve it. If you receive more than 3, you know you're really beautiful! If you break the chain, nothing will happen, but it's always good to know someone thinks you're beautiful inside and out!

    Again, Congratulations Beautiful! Hugs!
