    Hey there! Read your message board post on running and walking... I am sure someone responded similarly, but I thought I would leave mine on your page :)

    I ran a half in August and after attempting over 8 miles I realized it just wasn't going to happen like I thought, my body was REVOLTING!!! So, I reluctantly switched to a 9/1 run walk and was able to complete my training that way, and complete my half that way. I was not satisfied with that, but I simply did not have enough time in my training for my body to adjust to that longer distance. I am so proud for having completed the half even if I did have to walk a minute out of every ten minutes! My next goal - to do it again WITHOUT walking! To give myself longer to train up to that distance. So - my advice - do what you can right NOW. Start a walk/run and just make sure you get to that race and you FINISH! You will be so eager to try it again and complete it RUNNING! Good luck, hope it goes well, you will do GREAT!
