Wow, I've been on Sparkpeope 10 years! Now I'm retired (from nursing) and want to get healthy once and for all. My grown kids and Grandchildren also live here so I'm very lucky. I have no physical limitations, but I have trouble getting and staying motivated and have trouble with self-discipline and finishing anything. :-(
I find myself eating because I have ADD, anxiety, and big time procrastination problems. (I LOVE Sparkpeople!) I also would like to make new friends. Christianity and my relationship with God is very important to me.

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" Phil. 4:13.
How can we lose with a God who knows and loves us better than anyone, and who wants the very best for us?!!

Fitness Minutes: 719

My Goals:
Get healthy by:

1. Exercising 30-45 min. 6 days/ week.
2. Continue to work on the portion sizes of my foods
3. Daily devotions, prayer, and bible study
4. Daily journaling & logging onto SP

My Program:
I plan to get my exercise and above goals done first thing in the morning so I can feel good all day! I'm mostly vegetarian and I need to fix my portion sizes. (cut in half!) For exercise I like to walk, jog, swim, and do SP videos. I have never exercised consistently, so this will be a first.

    Hi, the name of the workbook I'm using for anxiety is "The Mindfulness & Acceptance Workbook for Anxiety" by John P. Forsyth and Georg H. Eifert. It was recommended to me by my psy doc. The workbook is divided into three parts and I wasn't that impressed with Part 1, as it was all about "Preparing the Way for Something New." Now that I'm on Part 2, I'm getting more out of it. Part 2 is "Starting a New Journey" and Part 3 is "Reclaiming Your Life and Living It." There are 19 chapters in all and I'm only on chapter 8, so I'm less than halfway through. I do think it's going to be helpful, but I'm still learning. emoticon
