You've come to a great place! Lots of informative articles and supportive people here. Getting to the gym is half the battle and you're right that any exercise is good exercise.

Actually weight loss is about 80% diet and when I started I focused on my eating for about the first 6 months. Made efforts to move more, but didn't start really walking until I bought me pedometer. And worked up to getting 10,000 steps/day.

What worked for me was taking it slow making small sustainable changes. Now the way I eat is totally different and I love it! Same with exercise which is a non negotiable part of every day.
