"If you want to be a butterfly you have to want to fly so badly that you're prepared to give up being a caterpillar."

This phrase spoke to me in Sept 2011 and I decided I was fed up of being a caterpillar. After only 4 dedicated months I was ready to start stretching my wings again and in 10 months I lost 121 pounds and REACHED PAST MY GOAL WEIGHT. My life was so much better.I was more active, energetic and agile.My health was so much better , but 3 awful,stressful and unhappy years havresulted in me practically gaining back all of the weight I lost. The butterfly went back inside it's cocoon to hide from life and to protect itself. Now it's time to rejoin the real world, spread my wings and learn to fly again knowing I am a survivor, knowing I am a warrior and knowing I deserve such much more. Here I go again....

Upate 3 April 2017: Have lost 98 pounds in 7 months, feeling fit, healthy, and positive as I near my goal weight and (yikes) maintenance.

UPDATE December 2020: Back here, at 287 pounds this time. Am basically unable to walk. Going down stairs is a trial. I live in constant pain. I urgently need 2 knee replacements. I had zero cartilage left 2 years ago. Yet I obviously am too risky for them to operate on...I'm not even on the waiting list anymore. Only I can remedy that...

Fitness Minutes: 52,965

My Goals:
My goal is to bring the symptoms of PCOS under control so I can be fit and healthy for my family and my job.I want to look like the ballet teacher that I am.

December 2020: my goal is to reach a weight where my knees can be replaced and I have the chance of living with less pain and improved mobility.

My Program:
I am eating "clean" food if I can and have cut out sugar and sweeteners altogether. I have an active job but try to fit in swimming as much as I can.
I'm am trying to make changes in my lifestyle that I'm realistically prepared to do forever ie/ I hate salads so I'm not going to force them down me now. I hate running so I've found alternatives that I will still want to do long term.

This has to be for life this time...not just yet another quick fix.

Personal Information:
I'm from Birmingham,England but have been living in the south of Spain for 25 years.I have danced all my life, everything from ballet to hiphop and was a professional dancer before injury and weight gain (due to PCOS) led me into teaching instead which I've now been doing for 30 years! I am separated and live with my 16 year old daughter. I am very guilty of putting everyones needs before my own and it is now time to realise that if I want to carry on being able to provide the needs of my family then I've got to put myself higher up the list of importance. When I came to Spain in 1996 I weighed 150 pounds (up from my dancers weight of 105 pounds).In 2005 I weighed 163 pounds and in 2011 reached my all high of 253 pounds.That's a lot of weight in a short time!! I worked hard to achieve it though!! Then I lost 121 pounds and then gained it all back until I reached a new high of 257 pounds in 2016. Once again lost 120 pounds, and yet here I am again entering 2021 at a new high of 287 poun

Other Information:
I am an only child and enjoy my own company although these days that tends to be a rare luxury. I adore reading and can't sleep until I've indulged in a few chapters at least.Favorite authors include Sarah Waters, Stephen King and Terry Pratchett.
I love all kinds of music from heavy rock to jazz, from classical to hiphop. Favorites incluse Muse, Radiohead, Crowded House, Depeche Mode,Pink Floyd, Doors, Nick Cave, Prince, Oooffff...the list could go right down to Neil Diamond and Glen Cambell!!
I used to love going to the theatre for ballet and musicals and to concerts but I now live in a culture black it's flamenco or nothing :(
I live 15 minutes drive from the coast and a trip to the sea is like balm to my soul :)

    I think you're posting on the big community feed on some (it's the feed on the left on your start page). We can't comment on those in some cases either. The feed for your actual friends feeds are all together on the right under MY COMMUNITY QUICK LINKS. Three down is friend feed. You can post photos right from your page and they will go on that.

    Yes, Sting my fave singer, saw him in concert 5 times. My husband finally said, enough, no more! Even drove to another state to see him! So, you like Sting too? I got a gorgeous pic of him at one concert. It's on one of my blogs, as well as the pic of Kenny G and Fabio. emoticon Swooning.
    Weekend went great! Hope yours did too! Keep up the good work! That 80 pounds will come off! I have around 60 to go. Once I get there, I might go lower, but doubt it. Medical reports say you should keep 20 pounds over your actual recommended weight, once you get to senior age. Because if you get really sick, you'll have some extra weight you can afford to lose.

    By the way, I re-read your list, you must be a superstar of sorts to be able to hang out with stars or sit on their laps. Or the luckiest lady! emoticon emoticon
    Also, I am a distant cousin to Queen Elizabeth. I found out last year, while Researching my ancestry through my 3rd cousin General George Patton. I was shocked at all the famous people I am related to! My husband is related to Mark Twain. Caz now calls me Queenie or QC. emoticon
