Introduction Text ARE YOU BLESSED? ARE YOU BLESSED? If you own just one Bible ... you are abundantly blessed. 1/3 of all the world does not have access to one. If you woke up this morning with more health than illness ... you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week. If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation ... you are ahead of 500 million people in the world. If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death ... you are more blessed than three billion people in the world. If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep ... you are richer than 75% of this world. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace ... you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy. If your parents are still alive and still married ... you are very rare, even in the United States. If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful ... you are blessed because the majority can, but most do not. If you can hold someone's hand, hug them or even touch them on the shoulder you are blessed because you can offer God's healing touch. If you prayed yesterday and today ... you are in the minority because you believe God does hear and answer prayers. If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you, and furthermore, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world that cannot read at all. If you believe in Jesus as the Son of God and as your Savior ... you are blessed as being part of a small minority in the world . Just close your eyes and open your heart And feel your worries and cares depart... Just yield yourself to the Father above And let Him hold you secure in His love, For He hears every prayer and answers each one When we pray in His name, "Thy will be done" -- And the burdens that seemed too heavy to bear are lifted away on the wings of prayer ~~Helen Steiner Rice I stumbled upon SPARK in October of 2008...finally got my groove on, and in 2009 I dropped 40 pounds...I then started college in the evenings, slipped back into eating at the fast food places, gained it all back.... I have dropped enough weight, (over the years) to fill a cement truck, only to gain them back. At one point I was even down to 145...I have started over, of course, we never give up do we? The difference is now I am a weight loss professional!! ))))SMILES(((( You are right I love to joke around, LOL, however, I am very serious about my health and weight loss program!! I am doing quite well, have dropped a little over 17 pounds this time around! I feel like something has changed, I know it is because of my faith, and all the praying I have been doing GOD is really helping me, as I keep asking HIM in, and allowing HIM to guide me!! I am sure I will make it this time...not only to get off enough weight to be healthy, also to stay with my program and keep it off. I have a beautiful grand daughter, who may need her Grandma someday...and I will be here if she does! I will dance at her wedding and see that she is happy and treated well!! I love SPARKPEOPLE! I am here to encourage and be encouraged, and to share my love for our SAVIOR!! Looking Through A Child's Eyes When I look at a patch of dandelions, I see a bunch of weeds that are going to take over my yard. My kids see flowers for Mom and blowing white fluff you can wish on. When I look at an old drunk and he smiles at me, I see a smelly, dirty person who probably wants money and I look away. My kids see someone smiling at them and they smile back. When I hear music I love, I know I can�t carry a tune and don�t have much rhythm so I sit self-consciously and listen. My kids feel the beat and move to it. They sing out the words. If they don�t know them, they make up their own. When I feel wind on my face, I brace myself against it. I feel it messing up my hair and pulling me back when I walk. My kids close their eyes, spread their arms and fly with it, until they fall to the ground laughing. When I pray I say thee and thou and grant me this, give me that. My kids say, "Hi God!!! Please keep the bad dreams away tonight. I would miss my Mommy and Daddy." When I see a mud puddle I step around it. I see muddy shoes and clothes, and dirty carpets. My kids sit in it. They see dams to build, rivers to cross and worms to play with. I wonder if we are given kids to teach, or to learn from? -Author Unknown Satan's Garage Sale Once upon a time, Satan was having a garage sale. There, standing in little groups were all of his bright, shiny trinkets. Here were tools that make it easy to tear others down for use as stepping stones. And over there were some lenses for magnifying ones own importance, which, if you looked through them the other way, you could also use to belittle others, or even one's self. Against the wall was the usual assortment of gardening implements guaranteed to help your pride grow by leaps and bounds: the rake of scorn, the shovel of jealousy for digging a pit for your neighbor, the tools of gossip and backbiting, of selfishness and apathy. All of these were pleasing to the eye and came complete with fabulous promises and guarantees of prosperity. Prices, of course, were steep; but not to worry! Free credit was extended to one and all. "Take it home, use it, and you won't have to pay until later!" old Satan cried, as he hawked his wares. The visitor, as he browsed, noticed two well worn, non-descript tools standing in one corner. Not being nearly as tempting as the other items, he found it curious that these two tools had price tags higher than any other. When he asked why, Satan just laughed and said, "Well, that's because I use them so much. If they weren't so plain looking, people might see them for what they were." Satan pointed to the two tools, saying, "You see, that one's Doubt and that one's Discouragement -- and those will work when nothing else will." GOAL # 1. As soon as I rise I will have a glass of water, and say a short prayer for strength, guidance, and enthusiasm!! GOAL # 2. Have a healthy breakfast, of a protein, a fruit, and a whole grain. This will consist of 300 to 400 calories. GOAL # 3. Start off with at least 15 minutes of exercise, (of your choice). Dancing, walking, treadmill, etc. Be creative! Find something you enjoy and will stick to. Each week we will ad some more time, and after two weeks we will ad another form of exercise! My idea is to gradual get us into the habit!!!! GOAL # 4. Plan small snacks in between meals. Yes, I know we were always taught not to eat between meals...IT does work! The idea is to keep us from getting hungry, so we eat fruit, veggies and some protein, like a string cheese, to keep the HUNGRIES at bay!! Have a glass of water along with that. We are aiming for 8 glasses a day!

GOAL # 5. Do NOT skip meals! You need food to have the fuel to burn, so you will not be so low energy that you aren't motivated! I even take vitamins. (Optional). GOAL # 6. Visit with a Buddie who is on this challenge, every day. Be accountable to one another...be supportive, and give GOODIES for a job well done!! GOAL # 7. Keep a food journal, track your food. I suggest even jotting down your activity, what you did and for how long, so we can keep track as we increase! I use LIVESTRONG.COM. I just like the way it works,it is simple and fast. I don't have too much time, so I do it at the end of the day. GOAL # 8. Be committed, self talk, and pray to build yourself up! Let's keep it fun, charged, and positive!! We can help each other to stay pumped, tho each one must DO THE PROGRAM individually to make it work!!

Hi! . I love my life and give God total credit that I have a good life. It hasn't always been so... but let us leave the past where it belongs!!! I am grateful I have found this site and willing to be of help and support where I can..
