    Hi Kay! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I don't know about geographic variation in barn swallow size, but they're so wide-spread, I wouldn't be surprised. I, too, was impressed at how neat the nest was when they built it last year. I'm used to cavity nesting species whose nests can be very messy depending on the species. House Sparrows are the worst! But this nest is such a pretty little thing. Obviously mom is an artisan emoticon

    Thanks, Kay! When I saw his picture on the shelter's website, I thought he was adorable, with his blue eyes, cream colored coat and flame points. I think he might be a Himalayan mix. My couch agrees with me. Even with daily brushings, he still coats the couch what seems to be an inch of fur a day. emoticon

    Hi Kay! Thanks so much for posting on my blog. Boy, you asked the $64,000 question! Wouldn't it be so much easier if we could just stay consistent? I'm so mad at myself for allowing the "creep" to happen. It's been 8 years since I lost the weight and now it's almost all back again. I'm where you are now, though, attitude-wise. The heck with the number, I'm just trying to address the good health aspect. Exercise and healthy food. I'm doing pretty darn well with my meals (lots of good fruits and veggies plus lean proteins). Haven't quite gotten a handle on the snacking, though, so I'm trying to make better choices there as much a I can. If I can improve on that, it will help.
