I applaud you for lasting this long and those MRE's really pack allot alot 2500 cal but being this is my first post to a group and being a mustang and for those not knowing what that was is first enlisted to SSgt then retired as a feild grade officer. The reason your email and last post is the weight program was a sore spot how it was handle and being a commander for over 10yrs many times I had to delete everyone because would take over the sq etc and find the paperwork a mess but had to have friends in personnel and they made a joke of it and hurt the enlisted while the enlisted would see alot of over weight Colonels. However, my wife (going on 49 yrs now) still works at the base thank God for her as a contract employee and she told me of a story of someone has his promotion number for E-7 but being held up until he make his weight. (each few year they change the program because someone in DC or somewhere LOL has a better Idea LOL but it and it most of the time it not the best and doesn't work but someone got paid good or reward for a better idea, that is my two cents for what it worth. I hope that since you mention 27 years your on the top of the enlisted grade based on my memory which is not the best your looking at min of E-8 or a real tribute to a life of miltary service to your coutry E-9 and that in all services equal 1% of total force per brance of service to make E-9 so. Being a commander of a joint forces operation when the yearly fitness came along it took a few people to sort out what is what for each branch and the army at the time was the most rigorous since we didn't have marine's yet so not sure. It's too bad that civilans get the wrong idea of there are alot of personel behind the scences at Fort Bragg since not getting into what I did we would fly into Fort Bragg weekly nice looking from the air but people below be it a pvt or One Star there have there jobs and the sniper and special forces ( these are the people they show on TV and we can be all we can but not every person is Rambo we still need people like you and miltarty pay) have support personnel to make it all come together. Now that the weather changing use the gym(which I know you probably been directed to) at home I will Pray for you to make weight since the people are being deploy so much and at fast pace make weight hard but now that probably in garrison area with a good kitchten talk with the Sgt Major of the the dinning facitity on a private moment and ask for help where you feel good about doing as time goes use chain of command to review whole picture and make sure after you do your yearly PT test and if those are consistent you may have some flexibly. Noot knowing how many deployments you have had since 11 Sept 2001 since my time goes back to Vietam, Desert Storm etc til and injury took my carreer away since could have gone at least 32 or yrs since started before the military a licensed preacher what a difference and twist live makes. Do let this get you down your record speaks for itself I can tell. P.S. Review all your own records also before talking to change of command so you have good idea of where you and they stand and just take a look around at the senior staff by exception see how they stand up in uniforms of the day some of the personnel at Fort Hood which is more and still praying for those families to this day and am now the Col for PA needs to suck it up even they say TV adds a few pounds but not a beer gut. I hope this did not get you down but there are way to skin the same cat lolhave a great day now and keep our country safe soldier. I was in the Air Force and most GIs did get go go pills to keep you awake etc which is legalize speed for long distance flying on deploymebt I was fist out depending and last back and we didn't have to clear customs lol thats the C-130 or whatever we fly and the flight surgeon yell out name and you had you stay awake pills now I am on the same med but don't think tricare will pay unless your primary care Dr thinks it will help because it also use as a apetite supressant lol we Go d Bless it late and haven't eaten breakfast so guess the pills working scecond day on them but before you start any pill get them from your Doctor Primary care provider since he or she will have all your records at hand and maybe for some on active duty it can help for me he gave me 15 to start since it can cause other problems I have to jump so it an out weight the the good over the bad again God bless and take care on old G.I to another
