Hi Jillian! That particular workout that I mentioned in my blog is from one of the Garmin training plans that you can download for FREE from Garmin Connect. They have plans for every distance from 5k to marathon and then they have three levels: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced, and you can usually select either heart-rate based or regular (miles or time). Once you download the training plan you can add it to your calendar and then sync with your watch and it will be on your watch ready to go. :-) As I mentioned, they don't pre-populate the paces though since those are different for each individual so you would just need to go into each workout and add your paces (or not...as you can see I haven't! LOL).
I know that using the other features on the Garmin can seem daunting as it is so much easier to just push start and then GO...but it really isn't that hard and it does keep you accountable to a specific pace which is so helpful especially if you are training for a specific time goal. I've also found it is super helpful in keeping me from pushing too hard on days that are supposed to be easy.
If you have any questions, let me know as I'm sure I could help walk you through it if you want to use either the pre-programmed training plans or input your own (I've done it both ways). 2607 days ago

Do you remember my guns? They were pretty great. Now they are covered up in fat! But some day, SOME DAY, I will have them back. By this summer. 2618 days ago

Thanks for giving me suggestions for how to restart my program. I took out a medium sized calendar my mom had given me for xmas, and wrote down my exercise plans for the week as well as things that needed to get done for work. Writing down when I would accomplish my work tasks took away a lot of stress. I'm going to work on writing down my meal plan today, too. Great advice. 2637 days ago
