I have a new action goal: Walk at least 15 minutes every day (unless there is 2 feet of snow on the ground), then I might have to ski or snowshoe, instead! LOL! :)

Looking forward to good stuff this year! I want to get myself in gear so I am happy with my results by this summer. For once in my life, I want to be ready and waiting for a "summer birthday" (i.e. wearing a bathing suit--in public!).

Well, my goal is steady-as-she-goes. I am aiming for a 1-2 lb. weight loss per week. I have tended, through my life, to be all about immediate results, only to sabotage them later. NOT ANYMORE! I am working too hard, and am too proud of my daily efforts to start sabotaging myself again. I am declaring a moratorium on self-sabotage! IT STOPS TODAY!!!! Hallelujah!

I'm feeling happier and more motivated lately. Realizing that with all the supportive Sparkers here at SP, I can keep sailing along on my way down to a healthier weight!

It's not all easy, and I know I will hit some roadblocks along the way, but knowing that I am struggling along with so many others is helping me to realize I am not alone. I am gaining hope and strength for my future! Something I didn't used to have.

Thanks for all of you with very positive comments, quotes and praises on your blogs, your SparkPages, and your message boards. I find that it is thinking more positively that has helped pull me out of a depressing place that made each day a big effort. Now my days are becoming more of an adventure, and there is always so much to look forward to when I check in with my fellow Sparkers! Here's to you! Keep it up because you can do whatever you set your mind to do!!! Let's go all the way!

Fitness Minutes: 8,503

My Goals:
To update my SparkPage peridoically because I can.
To meet new people here and learn what has worked for them on their journeys to their goal weights.
To learn to become the "New Me" and to be okay with it.
To be able to say a fond farewell to the "Old Me" and not look back! LET'S DO IT!


My Program:
To lose weight, I am TRACKING everything I eat--still! It is a bit of a pain, but it really seems to be helping. When I started on SP, my daily intake was something like 3,000 (easy!), now it is around 1200-1400. And I am still eating just about everything I like. Just less of it, to make less of me. :)



Personal Information:
My name is Jill. I am loving my time here in Spark World. People are so friendly and helpful, and it is really helping my self-esteem and progress A LOT! I am just so happy I found out about this site and am making a new effort to become the healthy me I am meant to be! YEA! :)


Other Information:
I like to read, talk to friends on the phone, play the piano, learn about recovery, travel and visit other countries, eat different types of ethnic foods, read and write poetry, I used to draw (not so much lately), sunshine makes me happy but I don't tan much at all (the Irish in me?).     I guess I can reply to your nice comment on my own SparkPage. Thank you so much. I am not used to positive feedback in my life, almost at all. I think that has something to do with my weight gain steadily throughout my life. Maybe I am just waiting for someone to say, you don't have to keep gaining weight to be noticed. But, so far, I have just kept gaining weight--like to punish myself--for something. Because I am not perfect, I guess. Seriously, my family tends toward the perfect side and I happen to be the least "perfect" and heaviest among them. But I am tired of putting myself down for their benefit, so I am going to start lifting myself up. With God's help, I might just start to feel better about myself in time. emoticon
