In the end, whether it be physical, emotional, or mental...

We can pass onto the next generation tools to teach others that we have found that work for us.

If you have a talent. Have your own little show and tell with the neighborhood friends and have them show as well.

Fitness Minutes: 695

My Goals:
* Explore new recipes

* Exercise each day to Wii

- Wii Fit Plus
- Wii Zumba
- Wii Biggest Loser
- Wii Gold Gym Dance Workout
- Wii Walk it Out

* Lose at least 1 lb a week
* Eat more veggies
* Keep Positive

My Program:
Gastric Bypass= 3 oz stomach

Don't eat when you drink
Don't drink when you eat

No more than 8 oz of sugar in sitting, no more than 8 oz fat in a portion

No corn, peas, or romaine lettuce.
No skin on meat, fruits, or potatoes.

I DO enjoy apples, pineapple, clementines, melons, watermelon, banana's, strawberries, black berries, raspberries, and peaches.

Protein - Vegetables - Fruit. All Fresh (not canned).

Exercise at least 30 mins a day. Use hand weights as often as possible.

Be my own cheerleading squad if need be. I can do this!

Red Meats take longer to break down.

Gluten Sensitive: Soft bread, pasta make me ill.

Milk Sensitive, Milk normally has 11 g of sugar.
So I drink: Organic Plain Soy Milk which has 6 g of sugar when mixing with smoothies.

High Protein, High Fiber, Low Calcium due to my IBS issues as well as I now have.

Moderation though, due to my Gastric B

My daughter in law Maggie showed me this site and works out with my son up north.

I believe Laughter is the best Medicine.

My visual goal mentally is me in a size 10 - 12 when I reach my goal.

I've achieved this goal this month January 2012

Right now, I am down to a size 12 - 14

I've lost 187 lbs since 3/18/10 so far.

    Good job on your weight loss after surgery - and you're very smart to come here to get support along the journey. I've know others who lost a ton after bypass, then gained it back because they didn't really make a lifestyle change but it sounds like you are doing it the right way!

    I'm glad you're getting active with SparkPeople - it's a great community, wonderful resources and fantastic support.

    In my experience, SparkPeople is like a emoticon in some ways - it's lots of fun and easy to make friends because we're all in this together. I like the way a HEALTHY LIFESTYLE is emphasized instead of a 'quick fix wonder diet' - it's about waaaaaay more than 'just' losing weight so you have definitely come to the right place!


    If you ever need any help using features of the site, there are tutorial videos under the HELP section that can show you how to use the features of the site. You can also find them on the START page and several other places on the site.


    If you haven't discovered The Spark book and/or the SparkDiet linked at the bottom of the START page, check them out - the program is simple but extremely effective. There is a TON of information on this site - so much it might even seem overwhelming but fortunately we don't have to 'digest' everything at once! The FastBreak program is a good way to start.


    Another nice thing about SparkPeople is that we have permission to be human - we don't have to change everything at once or be in a hurry to reach our goals. Take a few baby steps and then a few more and before you know it, you'll have completed a long journey - I hope you enjoy this community as much as I do - it teaches us how to make positive lifetime changes because that's the only thing that will work over time!

    I've lost 121 lbs in 10 months before registering here. I'm 50 yrs old. Just take some friendly advice. Live life one day at a time. Don't beat yourself up if you gain a pound. Remember, our body, muscles, and tone change. Measure yourself ONLY first of the month is what my Nutritionist said to do. If I can do this, you can. I'll be here cheering for you too!
