I have been married to the same man for 30 years and have a grown daughter. I'm 90 pounds overweight, out of shape, and sick of it.

Update: We found a new place to live that nicely accomadates my Mom and my husband. However, we had to move from our beloved Travelers Rest to Greer, SC to find the new home. m*/m

Having a great time walking the streets of Greer. The town has a wonderful city park that is open from 7 to 11 pm. The park is right down town, so I have been walking the park, then extending adventuring into the downtown neighborhoods. Lovely. Lots of old Craftsmen and Victorians. Well established gardens.

I really hate being so far from the Swamp Rabbit Trail, however. Greer doesn't have many good walking routes. The Greer GHS campus has a nice trail that is shaded, but rather short. Have to loop to get even a mile.

However, Hubby is no longer with the Park Service, so he is home more and I have more chances to get out of the house.

I gained back what I lost, what with taking care of my Mom, gout in my hand, then carpal tunnel in my hand. Think I am back on track with the GHS Lose Well program. Down 22 lbs since January with calorie restriction and exercise.

My Goals:
Ultimate Goal: Get to a weight where I feel like ME again. Is that 160? 150? 140? 120? 110? Who knows? But. if I reach 163 I will no longer be obese according to my BMI. And at 135, I will no longer be in the overweight category.

Mini Goal 1: lose 10% of my body weight (down to 200 pounds).
Mini Goal 2: Do mini goal 1 again until I lose another 10%!

Etc... Etc...

My Program:
1. Keep calories under 1200, with special occasion calories of 1500. Do this by eating clean, restricting complex carbs and high calorie dairy treats, and restricting snacking. (No chips or Ben & Jerry's).

2. Try to exercise daily by walking at least 30 minutes each day that I can get out.
3. Massively decrease unhealthy carbs.

4. Practice strength training in the mornings (weight bench and weights in the carport.)

Personal Information:
I am 63 years ago with creeping obesity. I never adjusted my lifestyle to take in the slowed metabolism. Over the years my activity decreased.

Now I have the challenge of helping my elderly mother with Alzheimer's.

Other Information:
I love to read mysteries and the occasional romance novel (what woman doesn't).

I love to write, but have been away from it.

I love to grow flowers, to hike, and to swim, and to paddle my kayak, although I do little of each these days.

I love to eat good food.

Not much of a TV watcher, but I love a good movie on Netflix.

We rode on the SR trail, starting at TR and going as "far" as Furman. My sister has not ridden in years. I was shocked at how short the ride was. If I lived in that area I'd be on that trail from Greenville to TR and beyond every weekend. It's a lovely trail. Downhill to Furman and flat coming back. LOL

    Hi Home. . .
We will be going through TR on Saturday. Up visiting my sister in Greenville and then on our way to Blowing Rock for a week of hiking. Hope it will be cooler up there than down here in FLA.

I've been to TR. It's just north of Greenville, and yes, it is a cute town.
