Hello all!! My name's Sara. I am a single mom who lives with relatives because I work at a dead end job making way below poverty level. For this reason I have decided to go back to school. I am getting a degree in Biology from CCBC and from there I am going to go into Marine Biology and then Ichthyology. I want to study sharks. I have always wanted to be a Marine Biologist, since I was very little - like 6.

Anywho, I have started this weight loss journey because my family has a history of high blood pressure. I am 28 years old and 3 months ago, my blood pressure had started going up. Surprisingly, in the last 3 months, I have gotten my blood pressure to the ideal 120/80 - exactly. Now, I'm just trying to get my weight into check. Also, next year I want to run the River Valley Ranch 5k. I have never done one and it seems fun!!

Fitness Minutes: 26,283

My Goals:
I am trying to get down to pre-baby weight. I have about 50ish lbs to lose to get there.

I am finally going back to college to become a Marine Biologist.

My Program:
Right now I am doing 45 minutes of strength training 3-4 days a week.

I am also walking 1.6-2.3 miles on the days that I don't work.

I am cutting out my fast food intake. Slowly but surely am I getting there. I had the option of getting some yesterday and I didn't do it. It's all a matter of will power!!

Personal Information:
I am originally from Baltimore, MD. At the age of 18 I enlisted in the Navy. I turned 19 in Boot Camp. I used to build underwater mines. That was the best job I have ever had. I have lived in Guam, Virginia, Texas, California, and Florida.

Other Information:
"I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength" - Philippians 4:13. I quote this every time I start and finish my exercise program for the day. It helps me to do it with my whole heart instead of half-heartedly. ;-)

My favorite authors are James Patterson, Emily Griffin (currently reading her brand new one. Pretty good so far) and Mary Higgins Clark .

Favorite TV Shows: Burn Notice; White Collar; CSI; Suits; Hawaii 5-0; The Big Bang Theory.

Favorite Movies: Lord of The Rings extended edition. X-Men; anything Super Hero!!

    No prob! I think it's really awesome you're working towards a happier healthier you. Just remember... being in the right state of mind is half the battle. You tell yourself you can't do something, you wont. It's amazing what you can do when you dedicate your mind and body to it. You are STRONG and you can do it! I'll ALWAYS be here to help!

    I think I'm going to be training for half marathons/marathons for a long time to come :-p I'd love to come over for a cook out sometime.. Addy like pugs? lol
