Who am I? This is something I have asked myself many times over the years.

I am an evolving 51 year old woman learning to accept 100% of myself. I had a couple of rough years when I finally understood that the disconnection I had in a 27 year marriage was not due to lack of effort on my part. A partnership in a relationship should be just that – a partnership. I beat up on myself to start with.

I am now in a caring and appreciative relationship with a wonderful strong loving man. Happiness and trust with another person has returned.

Food was presented to me in childhood as a comfort. I have used it as an emotional crutch without realizing I was doing that. Now it is time to lose the crutch and use food as a nutritional need. Not saying food should not be appealing, but I need to use non consumables to comfort myself such as friendships and activities.

Loving life and doing my best to love myself.

My Goals:
1 - get to 150 lbs
2 - be able to ride by bicycle 5 km without having to stop in that distance.
3 - fit into clothes, losing some of the extra curves I have gained.

In the next 4 weeks i would love to be down 8 lbs.

My Program:
To reach my goal my first focus is diet.
- selecting lower fat foods.
- minimizing processed foods.
- looking at myself in the mirror daily and saying "you deserve to feel good" and smiling at that person looking back at me.

Personal Information:
I am a positive 51 year old woman who loves to socialize and experience life. Hanging out with friends, playing pool, and camping are a few of my interests.

Other Information:
I have 2 wonderful grown sons with fabulous caring wives. No grandchildren yet. Looking forward to those days but definitely not rushing them.

    Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time. A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.

    1. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.

    2. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.

    The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Spark friends are here for support, motivation and encouragement. Good luck on your journey to a healthier lifestyle! Again, welcome to the SP family!
