Hi! A friend introduced me to this site and I am grateful! I feel confident that this site will help me achieve the changes needed to life a healthy and balanced life! Each and every day is a precious gift and I thank God for the opportunities each day presents~
Well, that was a couple years ago, and I am finally ready to commit to this weight loss journey! So many aspects of my life have changed since I first posted that intro. i THANK G0D for bringing me thru those dark days and to where I am today,

I want to lose weight, and get moving! Not just to look better, but to regain a healthy body and mind and enjoy a healthy lifestyle!

I am going to be following the Change One diet...basically a retraining of healthy eating habits and
start exercising!!

2010 was a pretty wild year;
I left my job on 7/1/10
DH signed papers for an early retirement as of 1/31/2010 on 7/6/10 and then on 7/12/10 he was diagnosed with advance stage lung cancer. We fought the good fight until God called him home on 3/5/2012. Since then I have been learning how to keep on living. Must say it took me awhile but for the most part life is good! Now I am ready to life to the fullest!

    Just stopping by to say hi and to wish you a wonderful first weekend in October. Fall is fast becoming a is supposed to be down in the 30s for the next few nights. In my book, that's winter. brrrrr

    Hi Jo and welcome to Spark People where you will find lots of information and tons of support and encouragement from all our members. You will find that we also have fun along the way. Drink your 8-8oz glasses of water a day, watch your portion control and walk. Use your fitness and nutrition tracker daily. These tips will definitely help in lowering your numbers. Don't expect miracles right away...this is a lifestyle change not a diet. You will be much healthier in the long run. Post any concerns, comments or questions you may have and someone will respond quickly.
    Start each day with a positive thought just for that day. Reading and reflecting on an inspirational thought or message before you start your day can put you in a positive frame of mind.
    Your thoughts determine whether you have a good day or a bad day. Fill your mind with positive ideas, suggestions, and thoughts. You will find it will change your attitude and changing your attitude can change your life.
    Sometimes just reading an inspirational quote or a short paragraph helps one see the positive in a situation. Sometimes as your day progresses you just need to take a breakā€¦Take a mental break and read or think about a message of inspiration.
    Never underestimate your power to change and improve! You are a good person, with wonderful qualities, and you can reach your goals! You are also a great friend!!!
