Found you via the MetaFilter feed. Guess no one's around there, huh? I too am back on Spark after an extended hiatus, nearly two weeks into "I am really going to to do it this time." Anyway, I've been hanging around the green forever, and it would be nice to connect with some of that crew over here.

Hello! Thank you for adding me as a friend-I saw your profile on Tcrossbar's page and thought you had a nice profile pic (for some reason I'm compelled to add people that seem like people I would be friends with in "real" life.) I'm sorry for the much delayed response. I started my first week of not tracking so I wasn't on as much as normal. I look forward to getting to know more about you and your goals. Lately my husband has been preparing all of my dinners so recipe wise I would need to consult him. emoticon

Really the thing I've found the most helpful is to try to accommodate my strengths and weaknesses instead of trying to change how I am. I can control what I eat pretty well during the day, but once dinner time hits I am starving and don't care about being good. So I've adapted my routine so that I eat a small yogurt every weekday morning and black beans with feta cheese for lunch at work (I bring it from home.) I don't eat any snacks while at work. However, when I get home I eat a big dinner and usually a snack after (typically fruit or dark chocolate.) It has really worked well for me to eat the same thing for breakfasts and lunches and then to be more liberal with my dinners. It makes it very easy to know how many calories I have left for dinner and then I can eat pretty much anything in moderation and I don't feel deprived at all. emoticon

Best of luck with your goals. I look forward to learning more about you and your eating;/lifestyle preferences! I know you can do it...I really think THE key is figuring out your strengths and weaknesses and working with them rather than against them. I haven't given up real butter, pizza or wine, etc. So it's definitely possible to find a balance where you can have what you want food wise and body wise. emoticon
