"There is no failure except in no longer trying."

It all began in 2010. I was idly flipping through "Oh, The Places You'll Go" when I realized that I was stuck in The Waiting Place. ("...waiting for a train to go or a bus to come, or a plane to go or the mail to come, or the rain to go or the phone to ring, or the snow to snow or waiting around for a Yes or No or waiting for their hair to grow. Everyone is just waiting.") At the time I was feeling a bit stuck in my job and my weight was creeping up courtesy of Messrs. Ben and Jerry. I decided then that I needed to kick myself into gear. No more waiting!

I lost a bunch of weight, felt amazing, and figured out how to make myself healthy, but then I quit my job to get a PhD. Then grad school stress got the best of me and I let myself go. Yo-yo'd a bit, but it's 2020 and I am right around back at my starting weight. And now there is a pandemic to contend with on top of everything else!

Enough is enough. I know what I need to do, and I know that I can use this time to prioritize my health. Time to put thoughts into action and to make it stick this time!

Fitness Minutes: 156,949

My Goals:
-Get down to a normal BMI
-Fit back into my old clothes
-Run 5k without walking
-End emotional overeating
-Wear an itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini (in public)

My Program:
-Real, minimally-processed food
-Limit booze and sugar to weekends only
-1600-1800 calories per day
-7+ hours sleep each night
-Daily exercise (yoga, barre, RingFit Adventure)

Personal Information:
I love to geek out, hang out with friends, do outdoorsy things, and read/watch various forms of escapist fiction. I study microbes for a living and love it when work takes me outside. Some of my favorite things are hiking, camping, reading, photography, juggling, board- and video- games, my boyfriend (aww), my family, my cats, and being cheeky!
