Thanks for the bike rap video link. I am both a roadie and a mountain biker. I took my Surly cross bike out yesterday. The chrome-moly frame is great on bumps.
Your shoulder must be terribly hurt. I can still function with my shoulder injury. However, I tore my shoulder a year ago and have learned to avoid certain movements that cause pain. I have learned to ride a bike one-handed. I just rest my right arm on the handlebar. However, I have to use the right hand to operate the rear brake.
I am sorry to hear you are in such pain. I am putting off shoulder surgery until the winter. Due to inflammation my shoulder is actually stable.
Thanks for your comment on my “Part 1: Little Stumpy Renew”, Blog. I also appreciate your slang lessons. I had to look up “TL;DR”. I suspect this shorthand expression comes from the degenerate form of communication known as “texting”.
Of course, as an official old geezer, I prefer more direct and rich forms of communication, hence my crafting of long postings that include photos and lengthy explanations.
Thanks, Bruce
P.S. When I try to post a comment on you page, the comment box is light blue text in a light blue field. The result is the characters I type directly into the box are invisible. I write my comments in Word and do a cut-and-paste into the comment box.
Thanks for your comment on my “Death Throes of the 26 and Little Stumpy” blog. The parts I selected for Little Stumpy were the same “mountain mix” that was on the bike when I bought it. The quality of the Shimano Deore group has been improved in the last 7 years. The Shimano 2014 XT rear derailleur is light years ahead on the 2007 version.
I simply tried to optimize my investment in a seven year-old bike. I wanted to make it new and make it better.
