Just Believe

Fitness Minutes: 753

My Goals:
I want to get down to a healthy weight. My height is 5'2" and so the doctors say it is 115lb. I know i probably won't get there, but I would be fine at a size 5/7! No matter what the weight, as long as I am healthy! :)

My Program:
 I have divided my weight loss into 4 short goals! My first is to get to 175 by 5/5/2011 (my wedding anniversary). The second in 150 lbs on 9/15/2011 (my birthday). My 3rd is to be 130 lb by Christmas, and the 4th will be to get to 115 lb by April 2012 for my little sister's wedding in Jamaica!


Personal Information:
My name is Beth, I am from southern Minnesota. I am happily married and we have our first child! She was born in June of 2009 and she is my little medical baby! No way was she a miracle! I took so many pills and watched that calendar so close, it was all us!! :)

Other Information:
 I have had a rough hit on my self esteem throughout the years. All verbal abuse, but enough from loved ones to where it put a heavy load on me! I won't talk about it on here, yet. But, maybe through a blog or if I get close enough with someone to unload! lol it would be nice to talk to someone who understands!

    Ever since our ancestors could first communicate, we have gathered to share our stories. We have passed along creation tales and tragic stories of love lost. We have repeated accounts of real heroism and simple stories of family history. When our forebears lived closer to the land and to each other, the practice of storytelling was imbued with ritual and occasion. Members of the tribe would often gather around the fire to hear their genealogy recited aloud by an elder or master storyteller. Listeners could track how their own lives, and the lives of their parents, interwove with the lives of the other tribe members, as everyone’s ancient relatives once played out similar life dramas together.

    When we hear others tell thier stories, we can laugh at their humorous adventures, feel the thrill of exciting encounters, see parts of ourselves in them, and learn from the challenges they face. Though most of our formal traditions of storytelling are lost, it does not mean we have to be without. We can begin new practices in our own families of listening to one another, of honoring our own journey, and witnessing the journeys of those around us. We can revive the fireside communal by gathering around the campfire or hearth with family and friends, sharing in stories. By building new practices of storytelling, we give ourselves and the ones we love an opportunity to draw ever closer in our shared human experience.
