this is the usual time of year (october-november) where i realize it may be time to reevaluate my personal goals. time to change and tweak things about myself and where i want to be. time to think about how i want to change me. and change the world.

i am currently 44. wow 44! where do i see myself by the time i hit 50? i think i need to take the next few months to think on that.

i've renewed my committment to school. i figured it out too. in order to graduate in 3 years i will have to take, at the very least, 2 classes every spring, summer and fall semester for those 3 years. wow! i'll be 47 or 48. talk about daunting! i've been encouraged by people that love me though and i know i can do it. won't be easy, but what in my life up to now has been? what's that famous saying? what doesn't kill us makes us stronger. guess i'm gonna have to cowgurl up and just DO IT huh?...lol

as for my weight goals. i still want to hit the 150 mark. but i also want to enjoy myself along the way. more running and more yoga is in order, but so is more biking, more kayaking, more swimming. i want to vary my activities and have fun in the process. being outdoors makes me happy so that is where my exercise will come from. things i can do out in nature. where i can work my body, work my senses and commune with all that the creator has given us on this planet.

i also want to make more time for those things i love in my life; my man, my friends, my pets, gardening, playing violin (and guitar and drums) and volunteering.

ah volunteering. my secret dream is to travel to africa where i can teach reading to women and children. i want to learn from them as well. i want to help make this world a better place in some small quiet way. i want to bring my love of books, reading and knowledge to women, african woman in particular, in the hope that THEY will change their country, that THEY will change their continent and make their world and ours a better place. can reading do all that? it did for my ancestors after they were finally freed from slavery. my granny and my mom always stressed the importance of education (i started my college education, but allowed myself to be distracted). i would like to share that sentiment, that love of reading with the world, with the women of the world. (i am such a cornball i know)

i've come to the realization that life is a meal to be savored. each portion should be well chewed and thoroughly enjoyed. not gulped down in big bites in an attempt to cram as much in as a belly can hold. i want to do what i can to savor and enjoy my meal.

as my bumpersticker says i want to "plant seeds and watch them slowly grow:

So ... I was doing well and now I'm so fat, my panties are tight emoticon

I'm back on the wagon - though it seems slow going with the holiday madness happening all around me !

it only took me a month to respond but of COURSE I remember you ... twin!

Welcome back to SP! I took an unintended hiatus but I'm back too. Using SP really does make a difference - the tips, the trackers, the people ... mostly the people. The ones who laugh with you and cry with you and pull your fat fanny back on the wagon when it fall off, you know.

A lot has changed for me in the 100 years since we've last talked, but I doubt it's a good idea to post a three page comment to your page. Instead I'm gonna go take my run and then take a bath and send you a spark mail - how 'bout that? emoticon

The tragedy in life doesn't lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goal to reach && Victory belongs to the most persevering!

I'm in a BAD way. I need to move south so I can run outside!

I'm back to the indoor track (i can NOT run outside when there is snow on the ground - it just seems so WRONG!). The temperatures are in the low 30s in the morning and by the time I get home from work it's pitch black dark outside - pitch black AND cold!
