Hi my name is Doreen and I joined SP on October 19th 2008. I am from Maine and I have 4 great children...Dustan 18, Shawna 16, Cameron 10, and Emma 13 months. I started this journey weighing 174, the highest I have ever weighed with the exception of when I was full term with Emma at that point I was 205!

I have been struggling since I joined, I have hit a few roadblocks along the way that have sidelined me and discouraged me. Weight loss is the hardest thing I have ever tried to do and ever will do!

I am setting no certain date to lose this weight by, I am just trying to get through one day at a time, and when I can successfully get through one day then that to me is a good day.

Yes my goal is to get down to 140 and like what I see in the mirror and not dread clothes shopping and getting dressed in the morning, but also I so desperately want to get healthy. I have young children who depend on me being here for them and that's just what I want to do, I want to be here for them.

S0 here goes

Hi Doreen. Thank you for the encouragement. And congratulations to you as well! Your daughter is absolutely beautiful. Cristofer is my first and my last child and I am enjoying every second of it. Every little milestone is so amazing to me. I know what you mean about the gym. I signed up for their personal trainer with the hopes it would give me the incentive to go but that is such a waste of money. Basically I am paying someone to stand beside me and flirt with the girls at the gym while I work out. Very annoying. A friend of mine just joined the same gym as me last week and we have been going to the aerobics classes together. It is amazing how much more courage you have when there is a friend there to laugh with you. We also keep each other motivated because neither one of us want to be the first to quit so we end up going a lot longer than we thought we would each night. Do you have anyone in your area to work out with? It really makes it a lot easier to get through it.

Hi Doreen, Believe me I know what it's like to have little ones and having no time to workout. As you can see on my page I gave birth to 8 kids & one I adopted, when they were all small it was impossible for me to do anything for me, they're all grown now 5 of them married and with their own little families, that's when I decided to make some time for me and lose all this wt. I gained while having all my kids, I have 3 kids left at home right now 2 are in school and I just have the 4 yr. old home so now.... I have all the time I need to do what I have to do to lose the wt. I've been doing real good sense I started. You don't have to see it as a diet just watching what you eat is fine. Yes... your right little changes at a time & the positive thinking is the best thing you can do, always have in mind you can & will do this. Take care & Good Luck...

Hello... Again Friend of mine.. ;-).. great honor to be your SP friend. It's a great feeling I inspire another soul. As you can see in my page I was at 195 lbs. when I started my wt. loss journey and I got to tell you it wasn't as hard as I thought, all I had to do is put my mind into it and work at it, I'm on my 3rd goal I successfully reached my first 2 now I'm on my 3rd that's to reach 125 lbs. that's where I want to stop at. All I did was workout 6 x a wk, 2 x a day on my Treadmill, use a swiss ball, watched what I eat and drink lots of water. I didn't make a major change on my meals I basically just portion control my meals however I did do few changes on my food, for example I eat whole wheat bread or whole wheat crackers, no cokes at all, I cook with cooking spray, no sugar, I try not to eat fried foods as often. Things like that. You can do it just put your heart and mind into it.. Best Wishes.. Take care. " Thx for the comment in my page" ( Hugs)
