Hi my name is Doreen and I joined SP on October 19th 2008. I am from Maine and I have 4 great children...Dustan 18, Shawna 16, Cameron 10, and Emma 13 months. I started this journey weighing 174, the highest I have ever weighed with the exception of when I was full term with Emma at that point I was 205!

I have been struggling since I joined, I have hit a few roadblocks along the way that have sidelined me and discouraged me. Weight loss is the hardest thing I have ever tried to do and ever will do!

I am setting no certain date to lose this weight by, I am just trying to get through one day at a time, and when I can successfully get through one day then that to me is a good day.

Yes my goal is to get down to 140 and like what I see in the mirror and not dread clothes shopping and getting dressed in the morning, but also I so desperately want to get healthy. I have young children who depend on me being here for them and that's just what I want to do, I want to be here for them.

WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 18th: Got into a jean size 12 comfortably, no more 14's!

FRIDAY FEBRUARY 27th: 1 inch gone from waist!!

SATURDAY FEBRUARY 28th: outdoor run-3 miles in 40 minutes!

TUESDAY MARCH 3rd: Went to my first Zumba class all on my own!!

SATURDAY MARCH 7th: Ran 3 miles outdoors and knocked 1 minute off my time!

THURSDAY MARCH 12th: My waist is down 6.5 inches since October 19th!!!

SUNDAY MARCH 15th: Ran my first 5k 36 minutes!!!!

SATURDAY APRIL 11: 2LBS lost in one week

TUESDAY APRIL 14: another inch gone from my waist!!! A total of 7.5 inches gone since October 19th!

THURSDAY APRIL 16: shaved 1:08 off my 5k race time today!

TUESDAY APRIL 21: Can workout for 90 min. straight and not be winded or wiped out!

THURSDAY APRIL 30: Another half inch off my waist! A total of 8 inches off my waist since October 19th!

THURSDAY MAY 7: Down a half pound!

SATURDAY JULY 4th: Down another pound a total of 10lbs down since joining SP! :)

MY GOALS: To adapt and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

My first goal is to run in a 5k road race on March 15th 2009

My Program:
CARDIO: 5-6 days a week either running or stationary bike.

STRENGTH TRAINING: 3 days a week

ABS: 3 days a week

CHANGES IN DIET INCLUDE: much more fruit and veggies, try to consume 8 glasses of water a day, always eat breakfast, if its not healthy I try not to put it in my mouth!

Favorite tv programs: wish I could get in some t.v. time, but with a young one that doesn't happen often
