I'm glad that it turned out to be just a "watch" and that it was canceled. Tsunamis that hit countries can be very devastating. I haven't experienced a tsunami, but I remember when I was very young, we used to evacuate because I lived in the town where the Hanapepe river is close by. Thankfully nothing happened. I'm glad I now live high above the rising waters of the sea. The only thing we worry about are hurricanes and thunderstorms! 6 hours ago

I usually get some sweet treats for the girls in my life. These girls are my daughters and our three granddaughters. This year I saw the "treats" which is usually food (such as arare or rice crackers) in a package that looks like a Japanese doll. But I don't know what I was thinking, and didn't get any for my girls. Oh well, maybe on Friday I will get them a treat.
Some years the Japanese Society would put on a show of Japanese dancing at the shopping center, but with covid, this has stopped for now. Also, when I was a youngster, I got this castle with dolls and the whole shebang. I'm not sure if I can find a picture, but if I do, I'll post it.
I've never heard of "friendship day" and it seems to be a nice tradition of exchanging small gifts even though recycled. 1 day ago

This recipe turned out great. It's simple to make and you can "make it your own" with imagination. We are all hoping that things will slowly go back to the "good ole days"! 2 days ago
