I have never been this heavy before. I feel very stressed but I need to stay healthy for both of us. I am a retired teacher and also retired lactation consultant. My current career is as a home health aid. I achieved my CNA 2 years ago.I'm a 63-year old mother of three adult children and one "furbaby" Pepper, whom I rescued from the roadside in 2008. I have struggled with food only since college. Since getting married to my wonderful husband in 2007, I put on the newlywed "15" and then some...He is a "meat n potatoes" kind of guy and I am more of a "weight-watchers" lady myself. He has had a recurrence of his canacer, so now it is even more important for me to be healthy and strong. Since retiring from teaching, I have enjoyed being a part-time CNA, and that job requires physical strength. I also have a two rare disorders, McArdle's disease and Polyarteritis Nodosa (PAN) which I struggle with more the heavier I get. It is time to nip this weight gain in the bud and take back my own health!!!

Because of my bad knees my choices of exercise is very limited. I plan to eat more nutritiously. Swimming and weights will be my mode.

    I have several conditions that make it difficult to become fit. The latest is that my doctor told me not to continue walking long distances or to walk stairs, I will need knee replacement sooner otherwise. I was born with a rare metabolic muscular dystrophy that affects both my muscles and my insulin absorption. Walking was my favorite exercise. Now I have to find something else. emoticon

    I have found that swimming has been heavenly though!!
