To a Healthy Lifestyle!
Update 4/14/13: A group of us from work are starting up a Spark team. I am looking forward to getting healthy. My goal is going to smaller. I am going to work at losing 10% of my body weight every three months until I get to a healthy weight. The weight is not going to be my main goal, feeling healthy is the final goal. As long as I don't give up I will not fail!
Update 2/18/13: I am back again to work at getting healthy. I have changed my goal to be @ 150 lbs by 1/31/14. Let's ...

Update 2/18/13: I am back again to work at getting healthy. I have changed my goal to be @ 150 lbs by 1/31/14. Let's see how close I can get. I have let things get totally out of control since I went back to work in 2011. I'm embarrassed to say that I have reached 266.6 lbs. I ordered a recumbent bicycle to use for cardio since I don't seem to be able to walk very far without my leg going numb. It will be here 2/20/13. That and I am a TV addict after work so I want to watch TV. I tried a manual treadmill but I didn't stick with it. it is even set up where I can see the TV from it. I think manual treadmills are harder than electric, it is all your power when using them. I joined Curves and attended for awhile and now just drive by each evening on my way home from work. My membership is through October 2013 so hopefully I can motivate myself to stop by @ least once a week. My work offers a physical fitness room that I can take advantage of as well. Now all I need to do is use the opportunities I have. Wish me luck!
My name is Deb and I weighed in at 265.2 on 08/07/09. I wanted to be down to 150 by 12/15/10 (didn't make it, but I'm still working at losing). I live in Jamaica, Iowa and have never been a regular exerciser. I am now moving forward and working on exercising more.
Update: 8/12/2012: Starting working on losing again a couple of months ago. Whe the scale starting inching toward 270 I woke up and decided the longer I wait the harder it will be to take it off. Especially since I am not getting any younger. :) I am concentrating on moderation and portion size. So far so good. I have taken off 15 lbs and just have 102 lbs to go. LOL! I will when as will my health. Thank you to all the wonderful Spark friends I have who have continued to support me even when I was MIA. You all are the greatest!
Update 08/01/2011 Haven't been doing very well lately so I am pretty much starting from scratch. Got on the scale on Saturday and was just about back to my starting weight. (259.8) I am miserable at this weight. I am working on getting back on track. A friend once told me, "You will not fail until you stop trying."
My daily goals:
Drink 8 glasses of water each day
Track food each day
At least 10 minutes of exercise each day.
After meeting these goals for 30 days I will set new goals. I want to get these down again before I move on.

Concentrate on eating lean meats, healthy fats, good grains, and fruits and vegetables in the proper portion size.
To stay within my calorie and nutrient ranges 5 out of 7 days of the week, until I am doing it 7 days a week.
