Why Am I Here?


I finally buckled down to weight loss when I lost my health insurance about 2 years ago. The insurance company would not let me reinstate the policy, nor could I find another policy, due to my weight. Since I am an only employee of a small business (have been for long time) I cannot get a group insurance policy which guarantees insurance for all employees.

I joined First Place in Jan 2008 at my church. This includes food tracking, exercise, as well as Bible Study. Since that time I have dropped about 35lbs. Though I pay higher premium than most, I have been able to find a major medical insurance policy recently.

Knowing I still have a very long way to go, I joined SparkPeople while my First Place group took a break. So, here I am.

    Serious flooding isn't just in SW Missouri. NW Missouri has had its share too as well as a lot of other places. I so wish we could have some of that water out here. Just read a projected forecast for next winter and they expect it to be anouther El Nino year with above normal temps and very little mountain snow here again. Pretty scary. We have already had a lot of wildfires this year.

    I have a friend in Shell Knob who had colon surgery in Springfield last year and he has had the same problems. I will keep your DH in prayer.
