    I'll be 70 next month, and 2 1/2 yrs ago I found a doctor who put me on Metformin, a weekly shot of Bydureon, Acarbose with meals, armour thyroid, Vitamin D3, Baclofen (muscle relaxant so I sleep well), Blood pressure med (help keep the kidneys happy), Progrestrone, Konsil Fiber, and Flintstone Vitamin.
    I'd seen a Navy doctor as I was 186# and just couldn't lose (I'd joined Sparks at 214#), but he said "At your AGE you can't expect to lose weight as you have Metabolic Syndrome". I had a blood sugar test and it was 115 and he called me and said "Diabetes starts at 126, so You don't need Metformin.
    When I saw Dr. Ward Dean (he has videos on YouTube), he said "He's right, but read the Metformin insert." It said "If you MIGHT become a T2D, you can start the medication now." He said "You are close enough." I dropped 20# the first month. I've kept the wt off for 2 yrs. All because I am no longer dealing with cravings and getting up at 3 a.m. he says "Diabetes ruins your body."
