Hello all!

Welcome to the online documentation of my weight loss struggles, failures, and successes.

A little about me: I am a 24 year old registered nurse working in the central Virginia area. I have made it through my first year as a nurse a little worse for wear (Gained when i wanted to loose) but I am enjoying what I do.

What I do not like is my weight and body shape. I have always struggled with my weight since I was a little girl. Now though, my health does not just affect me but affects how I will relate to those I care for.

It is up to me to work on myself and show that even if you fall off on the journey to a healthy life, it is not the end of the world and you can get back on and continue to work at it. Let others learn from my mistakes as I do and then let them make new ones of their own to learn and continue to grow.

Goals and Rewards

1st - 222 reward: two new shirts
2nd - 196 reward: manicure/pedicure
3rd - 170 reward: new shoes
4th - 160 reward: Belly dance Item
5th - 150 reward: mini shopping spree
6th - 140 reward: manicure/pedicure
7th - 137 reward: Victoria Secrets Bathing Suits / shopping spree -special trip from my parents to ireland (if I am in a size 8 too)

Fitness Minutes: 2,788

My Goals:
Wedding has come and passed. .. my best friend is happily married and I did not loose the 20 pounds I set out to loose by that time. Time to revamp the goals.

First goal is 222

Second is 196

Third 170

fourth 160

Fifth 150

Sixth 140

Seventh 137 pounds.

I still want to be a healthy example for my patients but also I want to look good when I go to the beach with my friends and not feeling like a whale.


My Program:
Eat 1600-2000 calories a day.

Workout 4 days a week

3 days running for 30, strength training for 30, dancing for 30

1 day of just dancing to my hearts content

Eat a diet of mostly fruits, veggies, lean proteins, and whole grains. Making sure I watch my portion control!



Personal Information:
My name is Sarah

I am a nurse and the oldest of three kids.

like my dad I have a weight problem. For me it really got away from me while in nursing school and kept going once I got my first nursing job. I kept odd hours and snacked instead of having distinct meals. I just overate all around and went up to (i hate to say it) 221 pounds while in school. now well. . .surpassed that to almost 250.

I lost about thirty pounds of that on weight watchers but started to put that back on when I joined here. Then I just plain put it to the back burner and got to where I am now. It is time for me to finish loosing the weight that I started summer 2008 and all that I have gained since then.


Other Information:
I enjoy drawing, reading (sci fi, fantacy, adventure, paranormal romance, historical romance, diana palmer), hiking (when I get the chance), listening to music (rock, pop, and middle eastern), dancing (i have been learning to belly dance since 2006 and took jazz while growing up), and hanging with my friends and family.

    Thank you so much for the pedicure!...Yeah exactly sometimes I don't realize how sore my feet really are until my boyfriend rubs them, they do take a beating sometimes haha..How have you been lately?

    Hang in there...I'm in the same boat...and with everyone on this site...sounds like the boat is full up. I had what I thought was a great week...and didn't lose a f**ing lb! Also...about the job hunt...keep the faith...they need us somewhere..maybe in a nursing home {sigh} but you will find something. I put off the hunt until after the holidays. Once I decided to do that I felt a lot of stress roll off. Keep moving forward...you will be glad you did. emoticon

    Hi I saw that you said you needed support I am right there with you. it's soo hard to stay motivated when it's such a long process to lose weight but I keep telling myself, I'm going to do this I'm going to get through this and lose the weight but most of all get healthier and more energy. NEVER GIVE UP! Always look at the positives your looking good so far in look at the process you've already have made if you could get those first few pounds off how can you stop now...Keep working at it and don't a little discourge get you down because in the END We will both enjoy and be sooo happy and proud of ourselves for the goals we've met and hard work we made...!!

    Look around. See all the tools available and begin to use them. They really are a big help. Find blogs by members that inspire you and subscribe. You'll be amazed how motivated you'll be as you read someone else's journey. And write your own blogs ... they really are for you, after all!

    Yeah the test was the same...I was so nervous I liked blacked out for 10 or 15 questions, but then snapped back into it and somehow passed, but Im not complaining haha....

    I should look into the compact state licensure, thanks I will do that. I have not looked into that hospital but maybe I should, I have been looking at everything else. Yeah I think I'm going to call on Tues. or Weds. and just ask the nurse recruiter what she suggest I do because I really want to interview and show them that I really want this and will really be exactly what they are looking for, she is so nice and always answers the phone when you call, crazy right?!?! haha

    Goodluck on your interveiw I want to know the details of how it goes, I know you will do great!
