Big change in my life after composing the stuff below. Recently been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis (late 2009). Quite painful to even walk now, but I'm not giving up. The crazy stuff may be gone, however I'm gonna do everything physically possible exercise wise.

Previously was quite active in biking (540 mile solo ride from San Francisco to San Diego was my longest), but don't like riding in the street much anymore so I normally ride only 10 or 15 miles at a time now.

Running - lost track of the number of marathons run (including Boston twice), done 115 3/4 miles on a 1/4 mile track in 24 hours, ran about five 50 mile trail runs and completed the Western States 100 mile trail run.

Hiked to the top of Mount Whitney and back in one day.

Ahhh, but that stuff was a while ago.

Took care of my aging mother for the past five years, and now she has passed away I'm on a mission to lose 20 pounds and get back into shape.

My plan is to walk to anyplace I need to go if it's three miles or under one way and I don't have to be presentable or carry any huge items. Anything between three and five miles it will be on my mountain bike.

Strength training will be from the SparkPeople selections, plus working out one to three times a week at the gym.

Don't think I'll ever see a 30" waist again, but I'm gonna try!

Anybody have any suggestions on how I can improve my plan, simply let me know.

My Goals:
Lose 22 3/4 pounds! Oh yeah, that will get me to 3 pounds under my high school weight.

This was my goal in 2007 and was made.

Well I'm back with the same 22 3/4 pounds again, and they're gonna disappear real soon. [; )]

Oops, made the goal above, but I'm back AGAIN! Now I have 28 3/4 pounds to lose. Looks like I really need to check weight on a regular basis. New start 19Sept2010.

My Program:
30 minutes of cardio minimum a day. Run a minimum of 10 miles a week at a 9:59 per mile or less (canceled). Gym 1 to 3 times a week to do a weight workout and some cardio on the Life Fitness Cycle (plus 15 minutes minimum in the sauna). Walk or run anyplace I need to go under 3 miles one way(canceled - hurts too much). Bike anyplace I need to go 3 to 5 miles one way(canceled). Use exercycle at home on occasion. Hike whenever I get a chance in Mission Trails Regional Park(canceled). Follow the SparkPeople calorie range and % of carbos, protein and fat. weigh and measure myself once a week - yada yada yada

Personal Information:
Originally from Illinois, but have lived in San Diego since I was seven years old.

Other Information:
Favorite non-exercising hobby is fishing - all kinds!

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention I like to Geocache also. Check out Geocache.com if you don't know what it is.

Your right with the weather warming up again, most of my aches have gone away for now. I bet we are still in for some cooler weather down the line.
We are proud of our son Frank age 24, foster son Jory (who just purchased a home in Tempe, AZ at age 25) and our daughter Samra age 26 too . Although sometimes we are a little dispointed in how her life has turned out. I hope now she is living is Tempe with Jory and his girlfriend she will make better choices and go back to college.
Glad you liked the goodie. Hugs, Teri

Sorry my blog made you hungry. I don't normally eat like that but the homemade chicken pies are to die for, along with the corn bread. OOPs there I go again making you hungry again. LOL
Weather was wonderful today, opened windows and had a nice long water with Phred.
Oh yeah the boys loved their dinner.

Thanks for reading yesterdays blog. Jeff and Frank worked on the osmosis system today so we are hopeful that this will fix the problem. Our water bill went up, but since all the rains we have had the sprinklers turned off, so should have gone down from last year.. Oh we went to clean my stove/oven last time on the self cleaning cycle and it wouldn't work. So that was another project that they worked on today and got fixed. Thanks goodness he is a great electrician and all around great handyman.
And Frank survived the crawl and we had to hose down his clothes good b/4 they will go into the new washer.
I am taking us to Poly's Restaurant for dinner tonight. xo Teri

We haven't seen the sun today. How about you? Still pretty cool around here. Did my boot camp video along with a bonus one and I plan on taking Phred the Wonder Dog out for a good walk. I just wish it would warm up a little bit. The paper says we are looking at one of coldest Jan. on record. Lucky us. LOL Teri
