Hi everyone!

I'm a musician, author and clinical research professional based in Austin, TX. I've found this site very helpful over the years, and I look forward to many more!

My #1 goal right now is to reduce pain and inflammation. #2 is to continue to exercise regularly,despite the challenges of a busy schedule and severe osteoarthritis in my knees and moderate in my hip.

I'm currently looking for partners for walking, the gym, swimming, etc. A lot of times I like to go alone, but when you're meeting someone at 6:45AM it's a lot easier to get up than when you aren't, know what I mean? Heehee.

I'm a member of L.A. Fitness, and I'd love to have a partner to meet up with occasionally. I'm flexible on location, as I work near the north locations and live near the south locations.

My knees are improving due to weight loss and more active management, but I DO have Grade IV Osteo arthritis, which basically means I have no more cartilege left in either knee. Ouch!

That said, I do a LOT of swimming and walking, but running or kick-boxing or anything that might pivot the knee in general is out of the question for me. However I do vary it and I like to challenge myself and I'm not afraid of working really hard to slim down and tone up.

I love meeting new people and I'm a pretty funny and outgoing person, so if you're looking for an enjoyable time walking or exercising at the gym (female only), please look me up!

I've made a list of the types of exercise I love to do here in town...and I'm open to more suggestions. I'm available in the mornings before the usual workday, evenings, and weekends. Please see below:

Deep Eddy Pool - swim laps, tread water
Barton Springs (usually before work) - swim laps, tread water
Gym - Elliptical Trainer, 30-45 minutes
Gym - Aqua classes
Gym - Swim pool laps
Gym - Beginners Yoga
Town Lake - up to the 3 mile stretch, walking at a moderate pace. I love going pretty much ANY time, even when it's hot.
Town Lake - Kayaking! I've only gone once but I would love to do it more...great upper body workout, and fun as all get-out.
Hiking - Bastrop State Park, Green Belt, etc. etc.

My Goals:
I'd like to get down to an athletic, height-weight proportionate size. For me that would mean a loss of 85-100 pounds. I've got some limiting health issues such as severe osteoarthritis and plantar fasciitis, so what I can do isn't as much as I'd like to do. I LOVE to be active and to really work hard at working out, so to not be is very frustrating. I'll get there eventually, I know!

My Program:
Most recently I've become a success story of pain reduction through anti-inflammatory eating. I went from sidelined to hiking in 2 weeks! When I am in full health swing, I walk on Town Lake or use the elliptical trainer if I can, and sometimes do strength training at home with a ball and weights.
