Determined to Succeed Though Stuck


In the past 4 years haven't been able to get any lower than 165. I seem to be stuck between 170 and 180. When we travel, I can gain 7-12 lbs in 10 days (no binging). It takes me 4 months to lose the weight I gained in spite of monitoring eating and exercising at Curves. Very discouraging!

I joined SP 8/17/09. Am tracking food and exercise. Love the motivational features of SP!

Fitness Minutes: 35

My Goals:
Get my BMI to 24.
Weigh in to "move" my ticker.

Exercise 5 times a week for 30-45 min. Exercise 10+ minutes, twice a week. Meditate 5-10 min. a day.

Maintain a healthy weight, ideally 135.



My Program:
 Keeping a food diary: 1500 calories.

Attending Weight Management class at Balboa Naval Medical Center.

Exercising 7 days a week.

Drink 8 glasses of water a day.


Personal Information:
Love retirement! Background in theatre so being a docent at the Old Globe Theatre is a high.

Love interacting with kids (and adults) with storytelling.

Active with our Unitarian Universalist Church in San Diego.

Other Information:
 Love books.
Love movies.
Enjoy bridge.

    I wish you the best on your surgery. Some people will do anything to lose a pound. TEASE TEASE! I will be praying for you. It is always hard to make the decision to have elective surgery. You have made the first step. I know a couple of people who had breast reduction and in both cases the doctor had them lose weight before the surgery. Both look fabulous now. The one only had it on one breast as the one was two cup sizes larger than the other.

    I am glad you are starting to get you SP groove back. I will be there with you on Thursday. I will close my eyes, take a deep breath, and look at the scales to see how much I gained. I didn't go wild like I used to do but still went over some days. DH kept buying these luscious blueberry muffins that broke my resolve. I did get some beach walks in and swam hard in the pool when I could get the pool to myself. We have to get each other pumped again as well as our other dear friends.

    There is nothing like a great story told by a person with a storyteller's talent to tell it. I did a little when I taught but never had that gift.
