Like the mythical bird the Phoenix my flight in a body so much larger than life is one of my own design and I recognize that I built it up as a fortress of protection against the world, but it has also been a prison of my own design. Recently my heart and my head found freedom, but my body is more than a bit behind, so this is the step that will support that journey. Like the phoenix with her beautiful plumage, my experiences have been amazing and I am overjoyed to seize each day, however if I don't lose this weight it will most certainly take me away from here and I certainly struggle with this each day. Coming to Spark is one of the steps I decided to take to ignite this journey, and my goal is to reach and sustain my goal weight and embrace life more abundantly. I have been heavy and then considered obese since I was less than a year and was quickly labeled and dealt with accordingly but despite it all I found beauty in myself and so as I learned to tune out the outside worlds view of me and I made it ok to stay within the fortress and build the walls up made of weight. I even found ways to make it work to my advantage and they will always be great memories. I am so blessed, I haven’t really suffered any real weight related health set backs (yet) and have no conditions, whiche has certainly confused many doctors (LOL), with that said it's been easy to ignore how large I had become, but recently I realized what a prisoner I have become and accepted that it was by my own design. I must say now that I recognize that moving slowly, needing help to get up, struggling for basic things, aches and pains, looking at chairs or tight spaces and getting upset, becoming frightened each time I get sick that it could be serious, and just simply wincing at the idea of stairs or standing for long periods of time has become too much. There is no reason for the fortress I built and have maintained for so many years to continue to stand, so, as I stare the big 45 into the face this year I know it won’t get any easier and I will face far greater risks of developing health problems or worse not being able to care for my family if I don't get this weight off now. Certainly this will be a long journey that will last the rest of my days, but I am ready, don't want to take short cuts like pills or surgery, and I definitely look forward to meeting those people I will meet and turn to along the way for tips and great advice. So, I just wanted to say, thanks ahead of the time, for joining me on this journey. I look forward to helping all of you in any way I can to reach your goals and maintain and will certainly appreciate the support from sources who have walked this road and can understand how it feels. I can't wait to start this journey and begin this story.

Fitness Minutes: 1,840

My Goals:
To learn more about how my beautiful body works so that I can identify healthier ways to eat and move. To nurture my body and allow my body to reach a healthy weight!


My Program:
Prayer, positive self esteem, and determination are the cornerstone of this journey. My exercise consists of at least 60 minutes of water aerobics, fast jogging in the water or simply timed mall walking daily I laugh as much as possible and eat 3 small balanced meals and at least two healthy snacks.



Personal Information:
Married to an amazing man who is also my best friend. The proud mother of 6 (yes you read that correctly) kids.
I enjoy traveling, swimming, reading, and volunteering in my spare time and although you would not think I do have spare time I do and I make time to laugh and enjoy these things regularly.
